Being a virgin is a choice, right?
Dropping yellow microdots and having a threesome in a pup tent... also a choice, right?

Religion makes people do any number of unnatural and abnormal things. It's not normal to suppress your normal sexual instincts and abstain until marriage (or priests and nuns forever - sometimes). It's not normal to pray to a spirit and certain not normal to eat dried bread and drink wine and call it the body and blood of your saviour. It's also not normal to be obligated by some mystical heavenly force to remain with your spouse regardless of how they may treat you. So trying to link religion to normal is a ridiculous notion.
At the end of the day, actually engaging in a homosexual act is a choice. Having a different skin colour isn't. Still doesn't make Fillplow any less retarded, but I don't think the racism equivalency argument is a particularly good one.

Tell that to your average page boy

guess it depends on your age and what country you live in....

I suspect it's quite normal. Not many cultures don't.

That's why I wrote sometimes.

You think it's normal in 2019? It's been normalised in most cultures, but doesn't mean it's normal.

Actually I'm sorry but I have to call that out. Your "average" page boy (I assume you mean altar boy)? So you reckon the average altar boy is being raped by priests? That's pretty fucked up mate.

Clearly my attempt at cheap humour triggered you. I apologise

The U.S. dollar still says “In God We Trust.” Our Monarch QEII is still head of Church of England. It’s in our own cultures whether we like it or not.

Yes and we sing God defend New Zealand. Doesn't mean it's a normal human act to get on your knees, cross yourself and say 12 hail Marys.

Going to be a sad day if that ever becomes a socially accepted lifestyle choice.

All good. Its just that my uncle is a priest and I was an altar boy once. It's disgraceful what has occurred but those sick bastards are a tiny minority.

It’s powerful symbology is what it is. And up until we remove it from all our official constructs, then a powerful symbol of our cultures it shall remain.

For you maybe. For me God Heaven and Hell don't even enter into my mind. For me the anthem words are not important, the song is a symbol of national pride, that is all

I’m an atheist. I have my own beliefs, and one of them is that I’m trying to be a realist. Religion still matters to people, I can’t refute that. I also can’t deny my culture any more than I can deny English lauguage. It’s a part of our mental hard-wiring whether we like it or not.
The fact that Folau would post a biblical quote that condemns some (most) of us to an imaginary place called Hell — the condemnation was not about the here & now, it was about a magical fantasy Afterlife — if nobody cared about religion today, then why did Rugby Australia and QANTAS and Pete Fitzsimmons and woke news media and homosexuals (especially) start throwing monkey shit all over the walls insisting the Afterlife was suddenly a Very Big Important Deal?
