@mariner4life I watched ep5 last night...Some superb dialogue, with a seriously cringey ending.
no spoilers, but good cringy?
Urban's accent is cracking me up! Ever 2nd word is just flat kiwi
Homelander says to him "love the accent".
The dolphin scene is one of my favourite things I've seen on tv this year. I never thought I'd see something as fucked up as that in a tv show.

I tend to think it's on purpose as there's no way someone wouldn't have noticed throughout the production.
I'm three episodes in, liking it but not loving it as much as some.
Good to see a couple of Kiwi actors though.
I'm in the middle of watching Stranger Things and The Boys (one when I eat my dinner and one before bed - I'm old man scheduled with my TV these days) but I really want to finish one asap so I can watch S2 of Mindhunter.

It's all over the show! Strewth cuz innit!

finished The Boys, overall pretty good series.
Last ep was pretty good, obviously with an eye on S2...
Starr is sooo good as Homelander, the smarmy all American hero in the public eye, but off, evil fecker.

For those that watched it, what did you think of City On A Hill? I thought the show was enjoyable enough but lost its way at the end after so much promise. Kevin Bacon is great though. The show has been renewed for a 2nd season so we'll see where the story goes.

Peaky Blinders starts again tonight here in NZ. Can not wait!!!
TBH, I can as I thought the previous season was actually pretty dud.
:::
It actually really annoyed me as they were portrayed as this family from a tight knit impenetrable community and they could just button down the area. Instead a bunch of American gangsters standing out like a sore thumb could find them everywhere and anywhere they went and half the time they chose not to have bodyguards with them. Plus, Adrien Brody did his usual unwatchable over acting.

You don't have to watch it though?
I don't even know who Adrien Brody is but I don't get into movies and TV like you.

I thought it was pretty good but seemed to go for a deliberate non ending ending to the season. Bacon is great, the uber Bostonianness of it is great, Voodoo Tatum from Friday Night Lights is good too, good to see Sarah Shahi have a more prominent role as the season went on.

Hey, I'm just giving my opinion. I really enjoyed the show up until the previous season where I felt it completely lost its way ... so I'll still probably watch the first episode to see if they've returned to previous standards.
Brody was the main American gangster.

The American Italian dude?

I'll be watching PB, pretty sure the cliched NY Gangsters are gone arent they?
Not ideal that Solomon wont be in it anymore though!
At a conference a couple of weeks back we had Tim Jarvis speak, which prompted me to have a look at his Nat Geo doco: Shackleton Death or Glory as Jarvis and his team try to recreate Shackletons journey from Elephant Island in the Antarctic to South Georgia 800 or so miles north, in same era boat, same era clothes and food.
Bit crazy, some interesting chats late in the peice of thier journey, which I can understand both sides.
Pretty insane to willingly take this journey rather than to save 20 or so of your crew left on a barren island.

I had to check who you were referring to here, as I've never seen that show. I remember him as the kid from Die Hard With A Vengeance.
You touched on my main criticism, an anti-climatic ending after the tension was building with the investigation and the relationships between the main characters.

Yep. Well the British Italian American dude to be pacific.

Great show. I had no idea he was in Die Hard with a Vengeance but I don't think I've watched that since the 90s.
I think the ending would have been worse if it was a one and done series, but as it's coming back it doesn't bother me as much. The credits for this show were odd, one actor was in the main credits despite exiting early in the series and Shahi was listed as a guest despite playing a prominent role as the series went on.

Binged on When They See Us this weekend. Mini series about the Central Park Five.
I knew the story and found it a bit meandering at times, other half didn't know the story and was enthralled.
Pretty staggering and just utterly mystifying what went on at times. Some pretty strong characters to survive through that eh.

@Nepia Aldis Hodge was in a later Die Hard movie too.
Having a quick scan through the cast of FNL that's an impressive list.
I haven't watched the most recent Die Hard and can't remember a thing about the previous one - in my head there's only three.
