Building myself back up

Got up early to do 30 min of intervals before swimming. Was then hoping for a fairly easy session in the pool but Kommandant BĂ„stard von Coach had other ideas. Long warm up then an "acid bath". 20 X 25 max efforts on a minute. BĂ„stard timed every one as well so nowhere to hide.
What a way to start the week!

I'm just waiting for the day he makes you do all of this with a towel over your head. Pretty much sounds like waterboarding to me!!

Very good legs session this morning. Hopefully swimming coach doesn't go hard on kick board tonight. Christ I hate kick board. Absolute torture.
Have added a steak dinner to the diet and it seems to be doing the job. The issues with low blood sugar haven't been hovering. Also haven't really hit the sugary treats hard on cheat day and I think that has made a difference.
If I could only have one meal for the rest of my life it would be a good steak dinner. Please note the word "good" cos shit, chewy, fatty steak sucks arse. Lamentably this is what I got when out for dinner a couple of weeks back, I hate it when you pay $25 for something lacklustre.

Yeah I'm very picky about steak. Had some really shit ones when I was living in Norway and went off it for a while. But a good one is hard to beat.

Chest and biceps this morning. Again, should have been careful with shoulder but wasn't. Hopefully I'll get away with it đ.

Shoulder actually ok today so hit the back and tris. Yeah not bad. Feeling tired though so swimming tonight will be a struggle.
Had some no sugar jelly. That's good shit.

Son has swimming at crack of dawn so went to place nearby with a gym and pool and doubled up. Went pretty well. Shoulder đ for some movements but perfectly ok for the 2km in the pool. Next week I'm just going to stay away from the gym and see how that goes.
A South African woman in the lane beside me got all matey and had alot of questions. Is it a South African thing to say "literally" every sentence? Said it more than those arsehole Millennials.

Swimming this morning. Woken up early by cat. Ginger cnut. He comes in every morning at about 4 and seems to have a fervent need to announce his presence. Meeows like a bitch and then runs round like a lunatic. Stupid arsehole has a catflap but the way he goes through it you'd think he was entering a farking time portal for the first time. Did I mention he's a ginger as well. BĂ„stard.
Anyway I usually do swim then run but ObergruppenfĂŒhrer Coach was there and had other ideas. We a did 1.5 km warm-up then 10x100 with 10 pushups and 10 squats in between). Half the 100s had a 25 max effort to start and the other half had 50 max efforts. So you did the pushups and squats then jumped straight in the pool for the max efforts. Yep. Totally fooked.

Was at a birthday party on Saturday night. Didn't have many but was bloody tired pretty much passed out. Must have slept in a weird position because arm was aching like hell.
Resolved to actually rest it this week so nothing but running, abs and legs for me this week. Was pissed off missing swimming but I need to get this right before I furk it up even more.
Running on Monday reminded me how shit running generally is. I'm down with the cardio but road running is crap. Massacres the knees as well.

Shit almost a week.
Gave shoulder a rest. Not perfect but I can get by. Unfortunately I appear to sleep in the worst possible position for it so any rest during the day is ironically ruined when I sleep. Will have to get to physio eventually.
Great session this morning. Did intervals for 30 minutes then jumped in the pool. Did 500m of warm-up then der FĂŒhrer drew up a brutal set for in and out of pool. 10 dips then 25 max effort. 10 crunches, 10 squats with medicine ball then 25 max kick. 10 push-ups, 10 ballslams then 25 max effort. 10 burpees then lunges beside the pool. Not sure how many I did but it was alot.
Really enjoyed this. Was doing bulk intervals during lockdown so I'm geared towards this. Hopefully alot more of this as the summer progresses.

Shit this week has gone quickly.
Back and tris in the am and swimming in the pm yesterday. Shoulder still not 100% but getting there.
Today was legs. Not bad.

Shoulder doing ok. Used cannabis oil, which I'm highly skeptical about but seems to be effective.
Saturday swim then run went he he swimmingly. Looks like I'm being roped in to swim a 400 at the final swimming club night. Just hope I finish the bÄstard and don't get lapped by too many 10 year olds.
Have a boot camp on Wednesday. Never done one of those. Hope it's worth the 12 bucks.

Kommandant von BĂ€stard back today and he apparently produced this set while brushing his teeth before he left this morning.
500m warm-up of various shit....then
400m (first 100 max) then 40 mb squats, 40 pushups, 40 shoulder press, 40 mb lifts
Then that was repeated but with 300 and 30, 200 and 20 and 100 and 10.
That first 400 was hard but actually went really well. Feeling amazing but I suspect I will hit that wall later.
