Never heard of him but sadly he’s about the age that so many of them pass away

Normally we'd blame drugs or the lifestyle, but this was a lung issue (not Covid-related) that basically came out of nowhere.

I don’t remember him playing but being the stats nerd I was ( much tougher in those days relying on the newspaper ) being shocked that a guy averaged even more than Martin Crowe but wasn’t playing.

I remember him being very solid, classy, then he was gone. If he had been able to make a living like they do today he would have been at least on a par with someone like Andrew Jones, or better from what I remember
