@mariner4life was Master and Commander supposed to be the start of a series? seem to remember that, obviously never came to fruition
I'm pretty torn with Russ. Very cool in Romper Stomper, Gladiator and LA Confidential.
Unfortunately since then he's thrown tantrums, lost fights with Eric Watson, gotten fat and grey hipster bearded, made a few questionable movies but ( worst of all ) used his fame to inflict his music on the world.
You can have him Australia.

Master & Commander was fucking great. Should have been another one.
Pulp Fiction is a fucking masterpiece. Tarantino is so far up his own asshole it's not funny, but based off that and Reservoir Dogs alone he's probably entitled to be.
Reading this thread, i can't actually remember the last movie i watched
His habit of shoehorning that kiwi chick in his movies is particularly irksome.

Based on a series of books, which I believe there is approximately a fuck-ton of.

Oh - recently, I watched something called Movie 43.
I watched this, after reading somewhere that it was widely regarded as "the worst movie ever".
I thought "fuck off, it can't be worse than Speed 2: Cruise Control".
I was wrong, the wider-regarding community was right.
It was just a circle-jerk of immense proportions, with a surprisingly large "ensemble cast", thrown together for what is pretty much a collection of short-stories loosely held together by a total bullshit premise.I'm too embarrassed by it to even try and explain the overall premise, and I have no responsibility for it. They'd have done better just saying "here's a bunch of skits", or better - just giving the scripts to SaturdayNightLive to do.
I'm not going to bother giving it 0 anythings out of 5 fuck-you-hollywoods.
Tit-watch: there are some fake tits, Halle Berry tits, and a scene of a kid watching a video on a website named CougarCrate.
Eye-Candy: Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Halle Berry, Elizabeth Banks, Naomi Watts, Chloe Grace Moretz, Anna Faris, Kristen Bell, a smokin' hot Esti Ginzburg, Uma fucking Thurman for chrissake - and it's still somehow shite. -

My top 4 of Tarantino is a mix of the old school "cool" two (RD and PF) and the new up his own asshole ones (IB and OUATH).

@Nepia I wonder if hes still going to make that Star Trek film...
he's going to have to work to get a lot of n-words in to a Trek film

Samuel L Jackson could rack up Star Wars, Marvel and Star Trek if he ever did get around to making it. @Kiwiwomble I think it's been canned.

@Nepia I think I had assumed that, such a crazy idea
Didn't he do an episode of ER or CSI? So I guess he can do stuff not his own, but yep, seems a bot of a crazy idea.

@Nepia its an interesting idea...if you paying for Tarantino...surely you want a Tarantino style film
just to be clear, I would 100% go and watch a Tarantino Star Trek Film
He would have to squeeze Sam L Jackson in there, and if he did would that make him the only person to star in a SW and ST film?

Me too, but I would go watch any film he's making so not such a stretch there, would be interesting though. I wonder if he could actually do a straight down the line film?
Speaking of directors making films that seem out of their wheelhouse I just learnt today that Sam Raimi directed For the Love of the Game.

I mentioned that above, and Marvel too. But Greg Grunberg, the chubby mate of JJ has appeared in both series.

I just searched, there are a few but mostly providing voices to aliens in SW, looks like only one has appeared as a live action human in both
https://www.cbr.com/actors-in-star-trek-and-star-wars/
i think a few more have appeared in Marvel and ST, Chris Hemsworth and benedict cumberbatch just off the top of my head
SW seems to favour less well known people, SLJ and Liam neeson excluded of course...unless im missing some obvious? even ewan mcgregor was still reasonably young
