Fatbastarding: NTA log
Just reading in yesterdays paper that the Broncos have a tradition where if u fail to score a try in a season you have to do a 'nude run', safe to say there will be a few disappointed woman in your area if your club has something similarรย
Thats a tradition across the whole league I think. I remember when Steve Price scored his first try in Warriors colours last season he was stoked because it meant he didnt have to do the nude run again. -
Thankfully the world has been spared that hell on my part. 1 try is all I need.

Training tonight - passing drills, then kick return practice forwards on backs. We took it easy on 'em <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Short numbers tonight so no lineout drills or anything. Was tiring stuff but still managed to crack out a few chins and dips when I got home.

I've bought some new runners so once rugby season is over I'm going to do a bit of walking/running to keep things happening. Also there's a chance i'm getting a job closer to home so riding the bike (once I buy a new one) is an option too - will be about 8-9km each way -
Went down to the park this arv while Little Aussie and Mrs TA were asleep for a bit of a run and a kick. Pricks had already pulled down the posts on the rugby league ground but there was a young chap with a Kiwi accent kicking a couple of skins around. I invited him to use my Gilbert which was in slightly better shape than either of his. He plays inside centre for one of Barker Old Boys' Colts sides and had a pretty useful boot and pass on him - inside centre. We spent close to an hour kicking, passing, and doing stuff on the run while having a chat. He was barely puffed and had been there two hours after a big night out. I was sweating and short of breath :shifty: bloody young'uns!

In any case, I was feeling quite tired after staying up to watch rugby, then chasing Little Aussie through the Wiggly World amusement playland this afternoon, so a bit of fresh air and a run around did me good I've decided. -
Training tonight - lots of running, a game of Aussie Rules (watching Maori trying to handpass correctly is funny <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />) and some other exercises generally aerobic and team bonding in nature. And a LOT of giving shit over the All Blacks conceding two tries <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Proper training Thursday night.

Think I'm getting sick which is a bastard. Sore throat, coughing a bit of shit up. -

No you can't even see me score it, and I still don't know how I managed to get it down given the awful body position and ball security I employed
I'm number 5 - yes its kind of hard to tell me from the THP, but trust me: he's 20kg heavier than i
Good work bud, love your 7 by the way, watchijng the rest of the pack work away while he hangs back and picks his shorts out of his arse! class. -
<img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Yeah it was his first week back after broken ribs/lung damage. He usually plays for First Grade and is pretty bloody quick. He had one try at that point and nabbed another later <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I was in at work this morning because we were having our bi-annual Disaster Recovery Test. I turned up at 9, when the IT support dicks should have had everything ready. They didn't. fluffybunnies. So after fucking around I just got the system to the point where the users could USE it, and then the network died. It was 20 minutes to kickoff, and I had 40 minutes worth of taxi ahead of me to get across town. fluffybunnies!

So finally I front up. Burning with fucking rage too... Naturally I didn't get a run but that's rugby.

We lost Second Grade 26-5 - as I suspected, Bankstown turned up with their full squad and a bit of dropped ball on our side led to their tries. Considering they only lost once in 2nd Grade this year (against us two weeks ago), its pretty deserved.

First Grade looked good but only managed to win 19-13 to cap an undefeated season: 18 regular season games, one Major Semi Final and then the Grand Final. 20 games, 20 wins, 883 for / 194 against. Aaverage winning margin of a tick over 34.

Club Champions.

All in our first year.

Well, pre-season starts tomorrow - I'd better keep fat-busting. -
Not necessarily - promotion and relegation are only compulsory for First, Second, and Third Division. Anyone below that has to make a case for themselves - strategic plan including recruitment, facilities, financials, etc. Our problem is mostly facilities: We share our oval with a stack of other teams so getting it to ourselves from noon onwards is basically impossible. Its a fucking parking lot anyway due to training the whole season - only time it isn't used is Monday night! Recruitment shouldn't be an issue with this under our belts: there are a group of young blokes around who are eager to play and Blacktown will be relegated, so we can pick up some blokes from there I suppose. Countering that, a few guys want to move back to their old clubs or try their hand at coaching.

However, we have an obvious replacement target in 4th Division: Chatswood. They had to scrap their 3rd Grade side and I'd say will be asked by Subbies to show just cause or step down to 5th Division. They forfeited a whole round against UWS Hawkesbury which does not look good. Its a matter of getting blokes to commit for next year now, and then going on the recruitment drive.

I'm going to be designing and building a new website for the club (http://www.rousehill.rugby.net.au/ isn't cutting it even by my low standards) in the off-season to help get blokes in the door. -

Sounds like its been a highly successful fat busting and rugby season.

The Mrs is fine with you playing again next season?
Seeing as NTA jnr mk 2 is on the way. -
Thanks mate! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
She hasn't said no. Of course :shifty: I haven't asked

I figure with Little Aussie #1 getting close to 4, he can come along and play with the other kids. Gives Mrs TA a break and me an excuse to get out -
Have decided to enjoy a break before pre-season. This has been further underlined by my scoring a job within 10km of home i.e. a 20 minute bike ride. Time to buy another bike! And this time I've got Mrs TA's permission to get something decent <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Well done NTA. Good work buddy. Gutter to miss out on yoru final though! -
Yeah Fuller, but old fat blokes like me have other things to look after in life <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I'm thrilled for the young blokes who got on the park and contributed - though one guy was shitted right off he didn't play. Serves him right for forgetting his ID! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have been having a "Summer of George" (Seinfeld quote for those who don't know) with the weight loss thing. I drank as much chocolate milk as I wanted, ate anything I felt like, and finally reached my limit with an apple turnover today, on top of a Nando's double chicken with pineapple and extra cheese today. I've pushed it far enough, and besides a bit of rum every now and then, I'm back on the straight and narrow

Took the new bike out for a spin tonight - got myself one of these:

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-AU/bik ... 131/28948/

And swapped the Scorpion tyres (now hanging in the garage) for some hybrid AirPro cheapies. They did the trick on the trial ride (4km) and I'll be hitting the bike for 20km rides to get in shape for the daily commute. The lungs burned a bit but it was like... uh... riding a bike :shifty: you never forget. -

AUD$995. Then I added the lock, lights, and tyres for another $150 or so.

First decent ride tomorrow - I'm going to work out the best way to and from the new work place.

Good stuff, no more commuting to work by train for 2 hours each way then?
