So that is the first Rogan I've listened to - I thought that Smith would be a good one as I listen to a bunch of his podcasts and like his speaking shows he does.
But as @Duluth notes pairing two stoners together makes it pretty unlistenable. There were hints of a good discussion there but it would always get hijacked by the rambling.
His stoner politics are all over the show (going from the sample size of one podcast), in favour of universal income, Hillary bad cos she lies, Trump not as bad even though he lies (did I just do the Candyman version of calling Frank to this thread ), no president, all his food thoughts etc.
He's actually a really good speaker too so if the subjects are good he should be all good. @MajorRage I'll definitely give the Armstrong one a listen.
I just have to block out thoughts of how annoying he was on Fear Factor.
On the subject of Smith, if you guys want some light listening about pop culture stuff (movies, comics, tv) then Fatman on Batman is great - he does them with a writer called Mark Bernardin who is really on to it.

@jegga He was pretty in favour of it on the Smith podcast - he brought it up a few times.
Yeah on one of the ones with Duncan Trussle they spent about 20 minutes agreeing with each other about not having to worry about money would make people more creative .
Sure it will.
There was a more interesting part of that one though talking about PTSD and how a doctor in the states is using MDMA to treat it and is paying for it with crowd funding. The Scott Addams one was ok in parts,I think the guy is just stuck in a rut of confirmation bias about how everything Trump does proves him right.

This podcast on the NYC orange and catholic riots of the 1800s is pretty funny:

This is what I listen to on the way to get my morning coffee (Tuesday - Saturday)
Generally taking one issue from the previous day and deep diving into it

The "Your Kickstarter Sucks" podcast is pretty funny. So much stupid shit out there.

Ever wonder about the story behind the M60 tank police chase in San Diego?
It involved a suburban backyard goldmine and a lot of meth.

I'd encourage everyone to get around the new ESPN 30 for 30 podcast series. Listened to the first one yesterday and it's one of the best things I've heard in a long time. The style of the TV series transfers well, and the story they pick is really interesting. Hope the quality can continue.

I don't concentrate very hard when listening to podcasts so tend to soak up the light-hearted ones. Kevin Pollak's Chat Show has put out more than 300 episodes. Surprisingly, Kevin's interview with Bobcat Goldthwait a year or two back (although I only listened to it the other day) was very good, and Bobcat's story about his daughter being stuck in Russell Brand's dressing room had me laughing out loud on the bus.

Sounds good, Goldthwait is an interesting guy. He toured with Nirvana.

I really enjoyed The Nerdist podcast with Edgar Wright
Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) talks to Chris about packing too much for trips, eating weed brownies before a flight and how charming yet gross pubs can be. They then talk about how the pacing of films has changed over the years, getting his start in directing and his new movie Baby Driver!

About This Show
On February 15, 2014, fitness guru Richard Simmons disappeared. He stopped teaching his regular exercise class at Slimmons, cut off his closest friends, and removed himself from the public eye after decades as one of the most accessible celebrities in the world. Nobody has heard from him â and no one knows why he left. Filmmaker Dan Taberski was a Slimmons regular and a friend of Richardâs. Missing Richard Simmons is Danâs search for Richard â and the deeper he digs, the stranger it gets.

Two sisters left the Westboro Church, Joe Rogan interviews one. If its too long theres a 15 minute Ted talk., but she's intelligent and also obviously very brave with some interesting things to say about life in the church and life after leaving so its worth listening too.
