that's just incredible. My brain explodes when I see that, kinda like the maths is racist tropes. It's just insane.

@nzzp If you look at anything through an "ideological lens", you'll find what you are looking for. Religious people find evidence of their God everywhere, Wales rugby supporters find referee indiscretions against their team all the time, and cultural Marxists find oppression everywhere.
The scary part is "ideologists" are now being called academics, journalists, experts, etc. -

The scary part is "ideologists" are now being called academics, journalists, experts, etc.I do get that -- it's just the introduction of that into the main stream that astonishes me.
Church newsletters are god positive. No objection from me. But I'd be astonished if papers started talking seriously about miracles being observed.
Ditto for Welsh rugby being shafted by refs. It's one thing if it's WalesOnline; another if it's the SMH.Anyhoo, I feel ancient now.

Exactly how I feel. I heard someone say about Cultural Marxism that, "it had escaped the lab" meaning it had escaped from the university's ivory towers where it was one of many useful "lens" on which to view the world differently. Once out and infecting the emotions of people looking for some life purpose...... it is a mind pandemic.

The freezing of bank accounts is some seriously dystopian shit. Canada is heading down the wrong path right now. NZ is too under Adern, we just aren't as far down as they are.

Article from 2014 on Huffpost of all places
The leader of that party does what he wants, when he wants, and no one dares question him. Would a Prime Minister Trudeau arbitrarily whip the vote and outlaw certain moral questions? Could Prime Minister Trudeau be trusted to make decisions for the good of the country, not just for his personal self-worth? Would Trudeau call in the police to enforce his vision? Let's hope we never have the opportunity to ask those questions.

This is Canada right now.

A small Canada update, via The Economist:"Mr Trudeau’s government has expressed shock that racist symbols were displayed during the protest. It appears to be planning to reintroduce an “anti-hate” bill that could lead to the imprisonment of people who use racist speech. This could include a clause which would allow individuals to take other people to court if they fear that they may be about to say something which falls under the definition of “hate propaganda”. They could also be charged for contemplating an offence “motivated by bias, prejudice or hate based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other similar factor”."
“Hate pre-crimes! Dpectacular.
