CO-ED DIVISION
Blues Final
St Kentigern College 88 - Rangitoto College 7What a mockery, the fishheads should have stepped in and banned St Kents from the division.
St Kents used to be in the co-ed comp before moving up with the big boys.
It is a joke but schools need to specify which competition they wish to qualify for by the end of term 2 I think. King's were guaranteed to be the Auckland qualifier for the Top 4 before the 1A final.
I read that St Andrews aren't even the best co-ed school in the UC. That was Rangiora.

Winning, qualifying and "best" are quite different things.
In general co-ed schools struggle to have strong teams. While girls aren't in the boys teams, they do mean half the roll isn't able to play. Hamilton Boys High is the biggest school in Hamilton anyway, but counting boys it is three times the size of the others.
St Kent's are different because they buy in a team more or less completely. That's what needs to be fixed, not which competition they play in.

It is a great thing that women have taken up rugby!
Edit: Hey Duluth - the board isn't working properly... I get an error message saying, "You cannot vote for your own post!"

Hastings
St Kents
HGHSWhy, with Hamilton beating Hastings in their match-ups have you gone for them?
Betting on Super 8 teams is a good bet, but I'd generally go for the winner.

It's our turn!
My head says Hamilton but obviously the heart wants Hastings, and from what I've been told the Super 8 final could have gone either way.

@Chester-Draws Both games we're close, i just thinnk Hastings will have learnt from the two earlier loses

I'm sure Hastings will have learned a lot. What you forget is that Hamilton are unlikely to have learned nothing.
An analysis that runs -- Team A won both last recent meetings, therefore Team B will win the next one -- fails to convince me. To be sure it's not always true, but generally a team wins because it is the better team.
-
@Chester-Draws Hamilton won by 23 in the first meeting and then by 8 a week later. In both matches Hamilton had the luxury of playing at home. Both teams will be rested and on the road for this game.
Any Hamilton BHS 1st XV is well drilled and well coached. Hastings are a good team, they have been really good for a few seasons now. In reality there is very little between the two sides.
I just think at a neutral venue and with the fact Hastings have probably got a point to prove after the two losses we may see the balance tip in Hasting's favour this time....just my 2 cents worth
-
Anything can happen in the Top 4 but as someone who was at both Hamilton-Hastings games and every other Hamilton home game, if I was a betting man I would be putting money on King's. I think they are the strongest of the 4 teams across the park. Nelson will probably upset them in the SF now.

@Tim he looks the goods, definitely strong but I am unsure of his top end pace he’s no Rieko Ioane at the same age so it will be interesting to see how he progresses ..
Saw the Auckland mitre 10 cup team training at Alexandra Park earlier this afternoon, looked very intense physical session with plenty of spice in the hits ..
Can’t wait for Sunday, should be a beauty..!
