so, ive travelled further into nerdom, for the first time in ages I didn't have a book waiting to be read when i finished my last one...so ive started a star wars novel, "aftermath" the first canon one after Disney took over and decononised everything else.
...its ok so far, set after EP VI at the dawn of the new republic, hoping it will flesh out the gap between the OT > mando >sequels
You will need to read that whole series to get the picture but yes it provides a bit of depth to the outer rim remnants of the empire.
Has a great character in that modded battle droid. Would love to see that in action -

It's not a rollicking adventure, that's for sure. I can't say I'm a fan of the writing style either.

@kiwiwomble oh god why that long!? Thanks, might get around to it after star wars..
if im honest...Marvel are better as a film collective, They tell one big story so all interconnect etc...where as star wars is three films...and then they tried to make some money so made three more...and then tried to make more money and made three more
Star Wars is as interconnected as any series could be. It’s just the last three movies in the series were a bit below par.

...so a third of the movies are below par?
i'll explain what i mean, Marvel has 23 films made continuously over the last 12 years with a single producer. there is just more flow
even if you argued eps 1-6 told a cohesive story, they try too but there are too many problems due to different directors, and the face they were made out of order 20-30 years apart...the last three just dont really connect at all

Yep, luckily some of the rest are amongst the best movies ever made to make up for it

Time to save this thread from shitty memes.
John Williams music improves the best scene in Star Wars since 1983.
They’re not all shitty......
But yeah, that scene is even more extraordinary with that score !
