@Daffy-Jaffy And there we go again, spelling Brendon O'Connor's name wrong again (like they've always done). Who writes this stuff for NZR?
That line-up comes from this:

@Stargazer I'd be interested in what starting xv and bench you would pick from the squad for the Magpies this weekend? where would you play Toala. He impressed me hugely against the Blues dev. team earlier this season.

@Daffy-Jaffy said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc:
The Hawke's Bay squad is:
Ash Dixon, Ben May, Brad Weber, Brendan O'Connor, Brodie Retallick, Caleb Makene, Danny Toala, Devan Flanders, Folau Fakatava, Gareth Evans, Geoff Cridge, Hannon Brighouse, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Jason Long, Jonah Lowe, Josh Kaifa, Josiah Tavita-Metcalfe, Kianu Kereru-Symes, Lincoln McClutchie, Marino Mikaele-Tu'u, Mason Emerson, Michael Allardice, Neria Fomai, Ollie Sapsford, Pouri Rakete-Stones, Sam McNicol, Solomone Funaki, Stacey Ili, Tiaan Falcon, Tim Farrell, Timo Vaiusu, Tom Parsons, Will Tremain, Zach Donaldson, Iakopo Mapu, Jacob Devery, Joel Hintz, Namatahi Waa, Ricky Hayes, Saia Paese, Tyrone Dodd-Edwards.
Something slightly wrong between this NZR release and the HBRU release on the HBRU website/facebook page.
Iakapo Mapu is NOT in the HBRU release. And the HBRU release has Elijah Martin who is NOT in the NZR release.
-
The HBRU list also doesn't inlcude Tiaan Falcon and Will Tremain. NZR always makes mistakes!
I've posted the list released by the HBRU in the Magpies forum here: https://www.forum.thesilverfern.com/post/353765

I had a pick up our Waikato season passes so took the opportunity to ask why the team lists for the preseason games weren't released like other provinces. The reason given was that the squad hadn't been officially announced yet, although other provinces did just that.
NZR wanted staggered squad releases and Waikato's will be tomorrow morning. A couple of players got injured in the Taranaki game but they wouldn't tell me who. Maybe that will be apparent when the squad is announced.

A player going off on a stretcher usually means the worst so a broken leg doesn't surprise me.

@Stargazer We received an email about this on Friday. Our seats are in the WEL Networks stand so we've been moved to the Brian Perry stand, but still on halfway.
I have no problem with this decision.
It will look very strange if all the cameras remain on the BPS side as the view will be empty red seats.

@Bovidae the cake tin is excellent for watching rugby in my experience.
Agree, I don’t get people’s complaints about it, never noticed the distance from the field that people mention - and it’s corner seats are better than rectangular stadiums in NZ IMHO.

That's my biggest complaint, and while it might not be a dealbreaker for some I prefer to be closer to the field. I'd take Eden Park over the Caketin from a viewer perspective.
