@MN5 rumours bakole will replace him , not a title fight but a difficult opponent on short notice,

I’ll still be watching, a great card

    Absolutely. Always great watching Zhang.

I just assumed the Parker fight would be cancelled

So much money involved they tend to have replacements on stand by ,

Shakur Stevensons opponent pulled out a few days ago and they named a new opponent within hours , a young fighter ranked about 10 in the world who hasn’t had a payday yet . On Monday he will be able to buy himself a nice house and a flash car . Life changing money .

Not really as high on Bakole as others are. I think he's a tad overrated.

Still, a good replacement for 1 days notice, and Bakole has been waiting for his shot for a while.

I think it’s a risk v reward thing , he’s pretty much an unknown to the casual fan so he’s not selling many ppvs ,

Add to that he’s a tad dangerous , it’s not smart business for the bigger names

How can you not like Parker ?

Great guy, lets hope he does the business.

In terms of Bakole 22-1 is a very good record, not exactly littered with huge names to be fair.

Worth noting he knocked out Carlos Taken who Parker could only get a decision against, then again that was "young" Parker who has improved out of sight since then.

Fairly sure that's their only common opponent ?

@MN5 I think a lot will depend on what condition he is in ,

Taken this fight on 2 days notice and jumped on a plane from the Congo , who knows what he has been up to as far as his fitness is concerned, throw in a bit of jet lag on top.

It’s potentially good timing for Joe to get that name on his resume you would think

Takam was well past it by the time he faced Bakole, he also barely got past Sergey Kuzmin (I thought Kuzmin dud enough to at least get a draw) and got stopped earlier in his career by Michael Hunter.

He's a fringe top 10 contender and that's about it. He's OK at everything without standing out in a particular area.

The disappointing thing for me , and I’ve been a critic in the past, but everything was aligning for him and coming together nicely, and I honestly believe Joe was in his prime condition to pinch this .

    Parker fight coming right up.

Winston Peters in the crowd right next to Frank Warren. Outstanding

Bakole coming in at 140kg. Not exactly nimble but potentially very dangerous

    Wow.

Strange finish ! Parker with a big overhand right and Bakole with a delay in falling down.

2nd round KO victory for our boy. Super stuff.

Parker far too good for his opponent tonight. I hope he gets a shot at Usyk soon.

Parker said in the interviews afterwards that he'd fight anyone and I believe it.

Very dodgy if what you say is accurate.

Despite not being the best boxer in his family he still had a magnificent career.

If he has a serious fight who knows ?

If he has a ‘don’t knock out Jake Paul or you won’t get paid’ fight then he’s no chance

hard to imagine it going super well , when Fury and AJ beat him , people defending him said but Klitschko was well past his best

    that was 10 years ago.

If it helps, they might now be well past their best as well. And both brothers have PhDs in sports science so he might have managed to keep himself in reasonable condition.

I see it differently, they were too young and hungry for him 10 years ago and now they aren’t the top of the pecking order anymore because they have aged as well , just shows how long ago his best was

Maybe a fury Klitschko rematch would generate some interest and make them a lot of money but I’d be keeping him away from the next generation of younger big hitting hungry heavyweights.

Yeah I agree with you, it isn't worth it. Just saying they should be in ok condition even if they don't retain the power that Foreman retained.
