The Canes playing so poorly from one season to another with largely the same squad (particularly in the forwards) is one of the more bizarre things I have ever seen.

That's thoroughly untrue and you know it.

The way I saw it was that there was a scrum awarded from where the kick had been taken. Then because there was foul play after the ball went dead, a penalty was awarded from where the play was to resume.

I think that’s fairly consistent when foul play is called.

The merits of the foul play call is another issue.

Yeah, figure Doleman was hamstrung by where play was to restart? Nothing to do with it being a kick though...
