That scrum was outrageous, absolutely crushed. Odd that the penalty was for holding on though.

    Cracking kick from Ford.

Send him to NZ to replace Biggar.

Brilliant from Ford. Turnover ball converted to a try.

This is a corker of a match.

    Argentina 31 - 31 England

@MiketheSnow Francis with the assist. Is one of them at inside centre?

    Breathless stuff.

And that's why Brown is in Argentina not NZ

That's dumb from Argentina. Quick drop goal with 3 minutes on the clock and penalty advantage?

That'll cost them. They have a habit of losing like this.

Shit tackling, but brilliant finish from Solamona. That's the match.

    Argentina 34 - 38 England

    Fuvking brilliant match.

If you wanted to show a newbie what rugby is all about then this match is it.

That was some game. Well worth a watch if anyone missed it and is at a loose end. Shame one team had to lose.

Crazy decision taking the DG at the end and keep that much time on the clock, but it was that kind of frantic game.

Most enjoyable match I've seen in ages. Youngsters all went well, very well. Of the "older" players, Ford played the best I've seen him in ages, Slade had a good game, and Yarde. Against that, Brown looked as unlikely to pass as ever, and Hartley was the weak point in two promising England attacks in the second half, getting thrown back like a ragdoll to end one multiphase movement, and spilling the ball in contact to end another. Argentina's handling and offloading was top drawer for large chunks of the game, but their pack didn't consistently dominate as anticipated, despite it being, literally, men against boys on occasion. Speaking of boys, 18 yr old Tom Curry, take a bow. Another great performance to back up his showing against the Baabaas. The lad shows real potential.

Eddie's got a fun couple of years ahead.

Not something one would expect from a match between England and Argentina, unless it was to show newbies how to scrum.

I'll have to look out for a replay on the rugby channel and record it to watch it later.

Definitely. Skills, strength and street smarts way beyond his years.

I look at Eddie Jones and can't help but be reminded of Ted when he went back to NZ.

He has a style of play and an ethos that he's worked at over the years, a lot of the time with success other times with failure, and now he has the cattle.

    A massive herd.

Onwards and upwards for England regardless of the score next weekend.

Thought it was very telling that England as a whole were disappointed with this performance

What did the boss make of it?

England head coach Eddie Jones: "It's a great result, but I am disappointed with the performance - we gave away too many points.

"But we have shown a tonne of team ethic. We had 10 young guys who came into a situation where we were chasing the game. They were fantastic. The young guys made mistakes but they did not dwell on them. Take Denny [Solomona], he made two horrific defensive mistakes but then scored a fantastic try."

Here's a link, everything but the first Argentina try.

Watching this again, it was admittedly all a bit loose at times, but some of the skills on show were pretty slick. e.g.Slade's dummy and kick ahead for May to score in the corner; the Arg fullback's score to take them back in front at 29-23; Ford and Francis combining beautifully to score on a counter from a turnover soon after; the lead up to Solomona's try.c.f

Horror start for Solomona. His first involvement is slipping and missing a tackle that leads to a try. His second is involvement is from the next kickoff where he misses two tackles which results in another Argie try

..then he scores the match winner
