    The 2pm time for the NZ Schools game is AEST, not NZT. So the NZ Schools game kick-off time is 5pm NZT.

    @98blueandgold Let's hope Leicester has a good game against Fiji or we might not have any South Islanders in the 1st XV! 🙂

    Luke Donaldson (St Paul’s Collegiate) looks to be the other halfback in the squad. St Paul's have a good representation across the 2 squads considering they would only be ranked the 4th best team in the Waikato based on results this year.

    Fergus Burke, the NZ Schools Baabaas 1st 5, was in the Crusaders U18s. I'm not sure how that came about.

    Haven't seen any report of the game yet, but I've read on one of college rugby accounts on FB that New Zealand Schools have beaten Fiji Schools 59 to 9.

    Hookers and locks scoring tries again. 🙂

    I assumed Reihana was picked as he is the best goal-kicker but unless most of the tries were scored out wide the success rate wasn't very good.

    Those tools from NZR have uploaded a page to their website that's supposed to include the team list of NZ Schools but instead gives the team list of NZ Barbarians Schools! I think they also got the kick-off time (4.00pm NZT) wrong, not being aware that daylight saving started in NSW yesterday. Can someone confirm that?

    Fortunately, there are other websites that have published the media release with the correct team list.

NZ Schools Team Named For 2nd Test

New Zealand Schools' coach Jason Holland has rung in the changes for their second match in Sydney tomorrow.

The New Zealand Schools' team will meet Australian Schools' Barbarians with only five players remaining in the starting line up that beat Fiji Schools' 54-7 on Thursday.

Holland said wholesale changes are to ensure all players see game time in the three-match campaign.

"We have good depth in our squad so we're confident these players will continue where we left off against Fiji.

"We did some good things on attack and defence on Thursday, the focus will be on the breakdown. If we can get quick ball I think we'll be hard to contain so we need to focus on the tempo of the game," said Holland.

Quinn Tupaea will again captain the team from the midfield, he along with Tupou Vaa'i, Devan Flanders, Leicester Faingaanuku and Etene Nanai retain their starting positions.

    NZ Schools Kick-off time is 1.00pm AEDT (that should be 3.00pm NZT):

    New Zealand Schools' Barbarians coach Brad Mooar has named an unchanged starting line up for their second and final match of the 2017 campaign. They meet New Zealand Maori Under 18s in Palmerston North tomorrow. 

The only change comes on the bench, with De La Salle College's TJ Ane coming into the squad to replace the injured Lemeki Namoa. 

Coach Brad Mooar said the team has shown huge improvement while in camp and he wanted to let them continue to grow combinations. 

"The squad went well on Thursday and it felt like the right thing to do to let them continue to establish and build their combinations. 

"Areas of improvement from the first match are error rate and penalties. It's not abnormal for that type of thing when the team is getting to know each other so if we can reduce those mistakes it should lead to a smooth performance."
