Karate tonight. Grading in two weeks so we were worked pretty hard. The boy and I are going for orange belt. Should be interesting as we both need to strengthen the legs a fair bit

YESSSSSSSSS! Finally cracked 90 kg.<br />
<br />
89.9 as of this morning, and celebrating with bacon and eggs, capped off with purchase of a new motor vehicle today

Won't be under 90 at this point due to a relaxed eating day. Didn't get to buy the car as the dealers we called were all shut!<br />
<br />
Pull up routine tonight - cheats marked<br />
<br />
10, 6, 5, 5, 5<br />
4, 4, 4, 4, 4<br />
4, 5, 5, 4, 5*<br />
4, 5*, 4<br />
<br />
83 with 2 cheat reps = 81. Progress.<br />
<br />
The shit thing is, once I come off those first few sets, I'm only doing about 8-10 seconds of exercise for every minute of rest... Suppose that is the point

Good work. How's your form? Strict and slow? That's a heap of pull-ups!<br />
<br />
Well, the point would be doing 5 reps in 20 seconds (slower with still hang at bottom for 1-2 seconds) then having 30 seconds rest, and doing that for 20 minutes.<br />
<br />
Keep what you are doing up till June, then switch to 30 second breaks. Be consistent all Winter and you will be bloody strong come the Spring. Then you'll have to increase the reps-once every two weeks have long breaks, doing your max reps each time)<br />
Doing dips?<br />
<br />
For me, I'm going to take it slow for another month, then do the same as you. My next target is 100 pull ups in 10 sets, with untimed breaks. I did 61 in 6 sets, so it's possible, but tough.

I would suggest my form is nothing special - probably don't go right to the bottom on some (a lot) of them, and don't pause that much.<br />
<br />
Once I get to 100 of these, I'll move to working on better form, then move to 30 second breaks

26 km ride tonight in 58:12. But while fucking around with my phone as I was pulling up, I grabbed the brake too hard one handed and stacked it. Fucking idiot.

Average pace was 26.82 km/h - pretty good considering I hadn't eaten for a few hours

Party food all weekend! Time to pay the bill.<br />
<br />
Something a little bit different tonight. Similar to a 20 minute pull up routine I did it with pushups instead. So go to failure and then 1 minute break<br />
<br />
32, 20, 10, 12, 10, <br />
10, 10, 9, 8, 8,<br />
9, 7, 7, 7, 8<br />
<br />
167 total. This fkn wrecks! Wanted to give up at 10 minutes... Twice a week ought to give some improvement... If the willpower is there to do it again!<br />
<br />
Think I'll toss the gym membership this week. It served its purpose and now just 50 dollars a month I don't need to spend with all this body weight exercise I am doing

<br />
Grading to orange belt this weekend - should pass but not so sure about the boy. With my knees a bit busted up from the bike fall I need to make sure I look after the legs going into Saturday.
Good effort pal, I'm stalling on the 100 push up program so in amongst the variations I am doing I might give something like that a go.

Time to start a new weight loss cycle! Last one was disappointing due to illness and willpower but this time around I'm going to obsess a little less over it. It will be more like a big experiment in getting those last few kg off and setting how my body fat reacts. The goal is to head towards 85kg by my birthday (18 June - bit over 6 weeks).<br />
<br />
Previous cycle ended as below:<br />
<br />
<br />
92.8, Chest 107, Waist 96, Hips 102.<br />
<br />
<br />
Today: 90.6kg, Chest 106, Waist 96, Hips 101.<br />
<br />
So starting on a good base.

Karate grading this morning - pretty good workout and I was so knackered by the time I did the grading kata that I didn't even think about it.<br />
<br />
So the boy and I are both orange belts now. Proud dad as I didn't know how he'd hold up at a full grading.

Pull ups tonight using wrist straps to see if there is any difference - though I've been off the strength exercises for about a week so maybe not...<br />
<br />
11, 7, 6, 5, 5,<br />
5, 5, 5, 4, 5<br />
Chucked the straps at this point - just getting in the way of hooking on and off<br />
4, 4, 4, 4, 5,<br />
4, 3, 4<br />
<br />
Total 90. Not bad actually.

Woke up about 5 this morning all hacky and snotty. Hope its temporary but just in case decided to "work from home" today.<br />
<br />
What's that you say, Foxtel guide? <br />
<br />
Tuesday is replay day for the weekend's Super Rugby games?<br />
<br />
Well, that is a coincidence, but as you can see, I have this work to do. I couldn't possibly...<br />
<br />
Well, maybe just a few hours...

Be sure to check out the Crusaders, clinical I tells ya, besides which that's the only game I actually saw. Aw and only pussies use wrist straps, harden up, if you can't hold it you can't do the rep, period !

50mm bar for my chin ups - just checking if it made a difference to the grip as I can't lock with my thumbs.<br />
<br />
It doesn't.<br />
<br />
The Tahs v Kings game was much better <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Despite the scratchy throat I went to karate tonight. Was alright too...<br />
<br />
Well ... except at one point when I made a comment while sensei was showing one of the green belts the usage of a particular move in one kata. It wasn't in any way a criticism, just thinking out loud about what sensei was saying from another point of view.<br />
<br />
The green belt came up to me at the next break and made some comment about "when you're sensei you can give me tips OK?"<br />
<br />
Fair enough. Just trying to help but if you want to take it that way, I'm cool ...

Been a shit week fitness wise. Illness has reduced the exercise to a walk at lunch time and eating has been slack as I try to recover and keep my energy up.<br />
<br />
Weighed in at 92.4 this morning, which is hardly surprising given the amount of oj I've been drinking.
