    NTA's exercise this weekend consisted of mowing the lawn, doing a bit of pruning and re-potting some trees. NTA did not make it to the Oval today, but did make it to The Cricketer's Arms and proceeded to be ripped off for lunch. The beer was good though as they have Guinness and James Squire on tap. Sitting in the sun drinking beer, perving at Mrs TA and her friends. Not bad, except the heat stroke wasn't the stroke I was looking for <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
    <br />
    Tomorrow's plan is to take the day off as NTA has an Important Job Interview that afternoon. The morning will be seeing Mrs TA and Little Aussie off to their respective places of employ, and then going for some running and kicking practice in the new boots before it gets too hot. Then crash out and rest before said interview in the city.

    Lap of the playing area, a heap of kicking practice (tee, dropgoals, line kicking), and a short sprint session reveals three things:<br />
    <br />

    1. The blisters are here to stay<br />
    2. The boots are nice and grippy on the wet surface<br />
    3. NTA's kicking (tee, dropgoals, line kicking) needs a lot of work <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    NTA hopped on the scales this morning to show 113kg. Smart eating has been the go of late as exercise has been curtailed by injury. The blisters are healing nicely and NTA should be back in the saddle by the weekend.

    good work mate - key to everything is the eating really, which sucks.

    Yeah had a couple of slack days on the eating and exercise thing, but rectified that yesterday - had to run to catch my train and must have covered about 1km at pace. I got to the train but it was chockers so I sat my fat arse down with a pie (only food available) and a bottle of powerade. The pie wasn't gristly at all which is something, and to make up for it I had an apricot and almond bar as dessert. Not easy to run 1km in the elastic side boots....

    Oh yeah and last weekend went for a walk with Mrs TA, her Mum <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> and Little Aussie to the local oval. Wearing my old sneakers I managed to knock over about a dozen ropgoals in a row anywhere up to 30 metres out from in front or out to about 10m from the sideline (was a league field so weird markings). It just felt sweet and I realised the secret to kicking for me is to stop thinking about it, and just swing the whole farkin body into it...<br />
    <br />
    The tremendous news from all this is Little Aussie is more interested in playing with rugby balls out in the sunshine than any of the overpriced toys that Mrs TA or her Mum have ever bought him. Good lad <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    very good to hear of the little tackers love of a Gilbert footy, Nick. <br />
    <br />
    I know what you mean re kicking, I can kick a lot better in bare feet than i do with footy boots on. And I think that just comes from being more comfortable, and not thinking about it.  :nta <br />

    Is the new job going to adversely affect your fatbusting?

    Hope not. its contract work and the guys I'm working with know about the family situation. Thing is with daylight saving fucking up the after-work fatbusting that was already out the door, so now I'm going to have to switch to getting up at 6AM and going for a run around the oval, with the odd night time 20km bike ride to compensate, and then do a bit more on the weekends.<br />
    <br />
    Winter sucks.

    not in Brisbane it doesn't. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> But yeah, reduced daylight is an impediment I know, but I actually enjoy winter....the rums are very tasty on a chilly night around the bushfire watching mates spew. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />

    Is cycling at night not an option? Or running even?

    Night cycling is an option but will be farking cold. Been a while since I got on the thing but its getting repaired this weekend so will be back into it. Got to spend some time each day with Little Aussie and he doesn't go to bed until about 9PM. A 9-10PM ride when the air temp is in single figures is an unpleasant experience so I'll be in the trakky-daks which is not a classy move considering teh size of my arse <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Jesus mate, what is it with you bloody Sydneysiders being so obsessed with your appearance? Just get out there....at least the young punks will be steering clear of the barge-arse on wheels. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Funny thing is running to the station yesterday with my sunnies on I scared hell out of quite a few people <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Some actually leaped away to get out of my path...

    Turn the winter into an advantage (like it's farking cold in Brissie anyway!), use it to pyche yourself up (like "I'm out here, lazy pricks aren't" virtual pat on the back stuff).<br />
    <br />
    Can't recommend working out in the morning enough, is making a big difference to me. Energy levels are high for the whole day.

    Planning on giving it a go K. But fuck its hard with a 2yo running around the joint and often waking up all hours. Little bugger is due for another growth spurt I reckon.<br />
    <br />
    But the sun is getting p earlier and the oval is a 2 minute jog so will try to cane my fat arse into shape....

    Yep, definitely hard getting time in the day, and if you sleep is getting interupted that makes everything harder.

    Well, as I have this week off and today especially, I decided to hop on the newly-repaired bike and go for a 20km ride this morning - the first one since 24th February (i.e. nearly 7 weeks). I have demonstrated ably the following:<br />
    <br />

    • Riding during the day sucks compared to riding at night<br />
    • I'm back to square 1 in terms of leg strength and aerobic fitness - I had to stop on a particular winding incline for the first time ever and walk about half of it. Really shitty with myself for giving up on that.<br />
    • I clocked about 63 minutes - 8 minutes behind my PB.<br />
      <br />
      The good news is although I haven't been doing a stack of exercise during the last month or so I'm still holding my weight of 113kg through sensible eating. Now its the perfect time to get back into the exercise fulltime and cane another 7kg off my sorry carcass. 110 here I come!

    Was getting ready to head to the oval yesterday for a bit of a jog and kicking practice when I noticed my foot hurting quite a bit. On closer inspection I noticed my right heel has cracked in about three places - anyone got miracle cures for this? I guess going barefoot or thongs during summer has resulted in it. Mrs the Aussie suggested this heavy duty lanolin cream she has but any tips would be appreciated.
