Yeah, I'm kicking myself for being an idiot and not doing this sooner!

Week three completed, weight loss now 3.7 and I'm sitting at 79.5kg.

WODs are starting to improve, cardio is still not great but it's getting better finally.

One of them was 150 wall balls and 90 double unders (and muscle ups, but I still can't do those) in 12mins. Improved from 37 double unders to 79 from last year.

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Five days to go on the challenge now. The weekend was tough, lots of kids activities with a bit of junk food for them. So lots of being handed half finished ice creams, etc Managed not to crack though.

Hit 4kgs of weight loss for the month now, might make it to 4.5kg by the end of the week we'll see. Pretty happy with that, 1.2kg to my sprint goal of 78kg.

All downhill from here, it's easy keeping the diet clean during the week. The difficulty I have now is remembering to eat and hour before xFit so I have energy for the WODs.
-

Week days are easy Kirwan. Like you, with kids the weekend can be a struggle.

Do you train weekends?

I dont lift in the weekends so typically eat less anyway then so I just try keep portion sizes down and make good food choices etc based on whats available. It's not perfect but not gonna ruin my progress either.
-
Sorry to flog this horse again but to all who still believe they need oats in the morning...... or pasta, or bread as part of a diet.......think again. Read this......

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/why-grains-are-unhealthy/#axzz2uEppYWzJ

My pain/ inflammation levels dropped considerably after I stopped having this stuff........poison! -

The oats article was a good little read http://www.marksdailyapple.com/are-oats-healthy/#axzz2uMRHVKMr

I don't necessarily need them but I like my oats and they contribute to my macro nutrient requirements very well right now.
-

Very rarely, so it's like you say just eat less. My issue is drinking enough water in the weekends. Rest is OK.
-

It is fairly easy to dodge and avoid the obvious sugar treats like lollies and chocalate etc. but the stuff is hidden everywhere in foods that we think is healthy like fruit juice and most yoghurts. That is when the game becomes more complicated.

I've been stunned by the amount of foods with added sugar.
-
So I have a good couple of milestones coming in the next few days. Tomorrow's WOD will be the 20th for the month, and that's the most I've done in a month in the past three years.

Also, I looked back at my weight stats and the lowest I got since Nov 2010 (when I started to get my weight under control) was 78.7 in May 2011. Once I get below that, it will be the lightest I've been for over ten years.

The wife also pointed out I've had no headaches this month. This has been a big problem for the last six months, progressing even to regular migraines. Even had a CT for those! Add in the lack of DOMs after workouts (I was sore all the time just doing three xFits a week previously), the increased energy and improved sleep I'm having my eyes opened to how I'm supposed to eat. And drink.

A very productive month, and just two days left on the challenge. Apparently our team is one of the top two, and it's a close battle. Be fun to win :)

Just been a great month, and the Crossfit Open starts on Friday, so that's something else to focus on for March.
-
You doin the open this year mate?

Re the DOMS, I can't get any either at the moment and I can't work out why. Even did 10x10 of squats last week with a short break and a 20 repper to finish. Expected the worst, got pretty much nothing! It's so weird! -

Hit 78.6kg today, so the lightest I've been in ten years. Didn't expect that to the weekend to be honest. Lots of conditioning WODs at the moment in preparation for the Open, so that's obviously helping.

Oh and handstand pushups are lot easier with just over 6kgs off (did 45 of them last night).
-

Well, had a disappointing weigh in today - only down 700grams this week. Although my brother and law did say his scales were a wee bit dodgy ....

I haven't been eating more and have increased my exercise so I'm a bit perplexed, but I guess the weight loss plateaus out and at least I haven't put on weight!
-

Any loss is a good loss, I celebrate 100gramsit won't be consistent, sometimes it'll level off, sometimes it will go up. What helps me is recording the starting weight in a spreadsheet then graphing the trend of the loss. As long as the line is going down then you can ignore the bumps along the way. If the graph is flat or up you need to reacess what you are doing.

Long journey, small steps and all that. And you weren't far off the recommended weekly loss of 1kg anyway. Keep it up. -
