Can't say anyone in black has screamed "best in the world" outside of Reiko and Brodie (whose season has been abridged).

    I'd pick Faf de Klerk.

Furlong and Retallick unlucky to miss out.

Lots of worthy contenders, but the best player I've seen this year is Beauden Barrett. He keeps redefining the attacking role of Number 10s.

If I had anything to say about it, French women would indeed have a good year.

They won the Grand Slam in the Women's Six Nations.

I'm surprised that Faamausili is the NZ player in that list. Sure, it's a good story about her coming out of retirement but a player like Cocksedge has been far more influential.

    2018 World Rugby Awards

    • World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year: Aphiwe Dyantyi

All nominees were deserving IMO, but disappointed Karl Tu'inukuafe didn't get the award.

Yeah doesn't get a bigger break through than no contract to world's (second) best team in a year!

@stargazer because he was a constant starter for the Boks this year and in his first year established himself as one of the world's best wingers (as Rieko did last year). Karl T is a wonderful story but was on the bench half the time.
