Giant Adam Kennedy – who was on the receiving end of the elbow – gave evidence via phone and described it as “a good knock”, but had maintained that he had stepped into Martin's path "to be a little bit of a nuisance", had expected impact and that he had first been struck on the shoulder. (HS)

I watched the game , some of the kids really stood up , to be 2-2 in the middle of an injury crisis is not too bad at all.

Dees secured their first win of the season over the Swannies on Thursday night. Bloody relieved as I'd 100% gone all in for all the talk of sides starting 0-4 almost never making the finals, let alone the GF. 1-3 feels much better, and now we come back to the MCG but against the Saints, then a quick turn-around and an ANZAC-eve fixture vs Richmond. That's a tough ask (St Kilda have won three of four) then another game four days later.

I am really enjoying the unpredictability at the moment, however I am sure after a few more rounds the contenders will start to stand out. Geelong is already likely to be one of them but for the others in the eight at the moment who knows. I think the bottom three at the moment were in all of the experts top 8 at the start of round 1.
