Geno Smith sucks at QBing and paying back teammates. NY Jets got better at QB with Ryan Fitzpatrick taking over which isn't saying much.

Not a bad break, his fend is going to cause trouble for some defenders who lack that technical skill of tackling. Talk is the coaching staff want to use him as a utility option (running back/kick return/safety).

The unnamed 49ers head coach says Hayne still has to work on a few things if he wants to make the final squad. One of the big things was he needed to "get low" when running but watching the above gif Hayne hits the line the way a secondrower would and has the benefit of guys obstructing for him. Once he breaks the line then it is no different to a break away in the NRL.

Is Tim Tebow still a thing? He is trying out for the Philly Eagles as a QB -- he won't make the roster as the team is settled with three QBs - Bradford, Sanchez, Barkley -- but he threw a couple of times and scored a TD. Better off trying for Cleveland or Buffalo as both have zero QBs.

Hayne has always had a more upright running style than even most NRL players. The thing that has been good about Hayne is that he knows how to spot the gap and make the most of it. In preseason those gaps are big, if he makes the final squad (and I hope he does) then he'll soon realise in the real stuff that those gaps get smaller and smaller.

I hope my Eagles don't waste their time with Tebow. Bradford will be our man this year. And from the reports I've read it was Barkley that impressed in the preseason opener.

Why is Tebow still trying to be a quarterback? With his size, and feet, he could have been a tight end of some ability.

Tomsula was non-committal but you can't help but be impressed. I know it's only preseason but Hayne looks like he belongs in the league

I am already amazed that he has got to where he has (pre-season games) in such a specialised sport. If he makes a starting roster, I will be blown away. Surely one of the great cross code sporting achievements of all time - to come from League to a helmeted game like that. Amazing stuff and well done to him. When he started, I didn't believe he would have a show.

He'll probably win the superbowl again now. Worth more than Rivers but not more than Big Ben however.

And now a big gain from running back. He's certainly giving this a real shot.

Calling it - the Hayne Plane will be the kick and punt returner for the 49ers and 3rd string RB behind Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush. Might be worth a free agent pick up in some of my larger fantasy leagues.

Imagine RTS as a kick return!?!?! Warriors will be getting nervous. I think Inglis is probably past his prime (although I also said Hayne had no chance of making it).....

League back 3's are well suited to punt return and RB play
