@Nepia About a month ago, I think before the preseason game against Waikato, they said Mikaele-Tu'u would be out for approx 6 weeks. So it shouldn't be too long until he'll be back, too. Yep, we have a good group of loosies, with quite a bit of competition for spots in the match day 23 if they're all healthy. Same with locks, btw (not sure what's wrong with Allardice and when he's due back).

@Nepia suprising Walker-Leawere hasn't started earlier. He is better than both Parsons and Cridge.

Maybe Plumtree is influencing Ozich. 🙃

@Canes4life Maybe they wanted to give him time to get to know the team and how they play. After all, the Maori ABs joined the squad late in preseason and he is new and has never (trained and) played with most of them.

@Stargazer good point, interesting he is at 4 and not 5 - though I'm not too sure if it matters too much.

Josh Kaifa on as an innjury replacement already from Brendon O'Connor after just 7 minutes. Looks to be a permanent injury replacement.

The conversion from out wide on the right hand side of the field makes it even sweeter after yet another beautiful forward drive. HB 07 - 00 Otago after about ten minutes

7-7 Otago hot on attack and McClutchie is in the bin for a deliberate knock down.

Ahhhh poop, Lincoln McClutchie binned for a knock on and that comes on top of an earlier Otago converted try. Twenty two minutes or so gone and its HB 07 - 07 Otago

Two nice defences of opposition linneout drvies though Napia. Shows we can hand them out as well as defend them.

The Bay in again after a Coltman inspired lineout stuff up close to their own line after a nice breakout from a period of defencing. Replacement kicker Danny Toala converts nicely.

A penalty from a HB lineout drive. The way we are experts at scoring tries from them surely that must have seen the referee give serious thought about awarding a penalty try. Danny Toala takes the three points anyway and the score after thirty minues The Bay 17 - 07 Otago

Makene had a good first half. Rakete-Stones great again in the scrum. I'm starting to become a fan of the line-out drive! 😀
