@Duluth he's been training with the squad from week 1 so it's not down to injury. The 8 that has been starting has also been playing well mind you

Yeah, Sotutu has been excellent. WRK and Choat have been good too.

Hopefully Auckland shows the Blues how to rotate loosies..

If you retards don't want to play him send him to The Bay (the real one, not the pretenders you guys are playing this week) - we could use him as White Akira (Gareth Evans) and Mikaele-Tu'u are both injured, so we're down to our 3rd string number 8 (NZ U20s Devon Flanders).

Just read the team sheet in the BOP mafia thread.

Sooo ... not one player from the club that finished second on the table and made the semis two years in a row?

Noooo, Flanders is doing an excellent job. Has a huge work rate, too.

@Duluth I wonder if he is getting a bit of tough love right now.

Story of his pro-rugby life so far.

I get the sense Eden were a team of club journeymen rather than players suited for the next level.

    Good to have Abel back.

Plummer out for a few weeks isn't good. Hopefully Leuila continues to perform like last week.

I'm guessing Heatherley gets in ahead of Lam because he can also cover fullback? Lam has been pretty solid.

Probably.. Also I think they need to give Heatherly a decent run from the bench. We need to find out early in the season if he's worth keeping in the 23

He got a few minutes against Northland but there wasn't much to judge him on.

Good for the blindside - you just need to think of Akira as brown Evans and then you'll be fine with him. 😉

@Nepia Nope, nope, nope. Evans will be back next week anyway. Mikaele-Tu'u will be back soon, too.

Well, I wasn't being serious ... but I do find your dislike of Akira as odd considering your love of both Evans and Taufua who both play very similar games.

Also this is good hijacking of an Of Plenty thread. 😉

@Stargazer Oh ok thanks, I was going off a google image of him playing for Kings. Did he move up to Kings from the bay?
Edit - or should I say did Kings poach him?

@Stargazer I do like the way he plays. I wonder if at 186cm and 105kgs whether he could have a future at openside in super rugby?

@Daffy-Jaffy Not sure whether he has played at openside. It's possible, but I can only remember him at 6 and 8.
