Magpies v Tasman

@Steven-Harris I'm anticipating that you'll get your wish. And anything can happen in play-off rugby.
Ta$man is good, but not unbeatable. And look at what Canterbury is rolling out as the season reaches the pointy end.
That said - 48/50 points for the regular season!!! Woo hoo - what an effort. Convincingly Minor Premeiers - and you gotta bank those wins when you can!
Freddie seems to have written some lyrics specifically for this game...
You say black, I say white
You say bark, I say bite
You say shark, I say hey man!!! -
Boy, that is an impressive Ta$man team, both individually and collectively, but you'd have to say that HB were shown up in certain areas which must be a concern going forward. I really thought they would front up better.
The semis will be absolutely fascinating. Getting top spot on the ladder is a huge advantage so you would have to say that favouritism has swung back towards BOP.

@Chris-B Just as well you didn't include the next 2 lines. You might have triggered @MN5 and @Rancid-Schnitzel.
Now I want to know what the last two lines are.

If Shield Snorters had stuck with Zac, I could have carried on to the chorus!

Do you know the song?

I think we know our issues, we're fine with the ball but less so without it. We definitely need to tighten our defence.
Clearly we couldn't compete with the Invitational XV scrum, but it's less of an issue with the Championship teams we'll face.
Probably our biggest area of concern is we let teams get away from us when a few decisions go against us ... both BoP and the Cheque Books got rolls on that we couldn't peg back.

Nope - otherwise I wouldn't be asking what the two lines were.

@Snollygoster You can try to talk us down all you like. I think we had a very good game. Some weak passages of play, including 10 minutes with 14 men, but also some brilliant rugby. No team has scored that many points against Super Rugby team Ta$man as we have. I expected our young squad full of youngsters to get hammered much more than they were.
We'll get Evans and Allardice back for the semis., and hopefully McNicol, too Only injury concern is Toala. We'll be very competitive in the finals, also against the Steamers if we both reach the final.
I'm happy to give you the favourites tag for the final though. We perform well as underdogs. People have underestimated us all season.

@Chris-B I tell what you what , itβs one thing to have a team with a whole lot of names and you can see that with Auckland , they have some talent I would gladly have in the Taniwha Squad, itβs another thing getting them to perform ..and thatβs what this Ta$man team are doing..also being a supporter of Shield Snorters , they should be pleased with that effort, they could have folded , but came back and scored a couple of tries ..I think thereβs 2 boys in the Ta$man team who have got All Black written all over them ..Nankervill and Parkinson ..

We definitely need

Hmmm, seems I only know the chorus, might have hated Queen if I knew those two lines!

@Steven-Harris I'd add Leicester Fainga'anuku. Especially if Rieko can't get back to his old level.
-
@Steven-Harris And Will Jordan.
@Stargazer - Big Leicester is starting to look like a young Julian Savea.

We definitely need Toala back for that midfield punch, although Fomai was dangerous with the ball. Also, I'd be tempted to play Evans at 7 and keep all three of our 8's in the team.

@Nepia Yes, I'd really like to see 6. Mikaele-Tu'u, 7 Evans, 8 Flanders, although O'Connor had a good game today.
I wonder whether they'll move Ili to 12 and keep Fomai at 13, if Toala is out. If McNicol is back, where will they play him? 12? 13? They seem to see him as a midfielder, but I'm not sure which position he prefers there, esp if Toala isn't available.
