Fatbusting: Hooroos log
-
Drowned my sorrows tonight. Played cricket this afternoon and batted at 5. Was seeing it like a basketball and hit 11 off 4 balls. I dislocated my knee hitting my second 4 and I am pissed off.
Won't take long to get back into it as straight pressure on the knee is fine so I will be able to row and run with a brace. Still pretty pissed off as I feel so much fitter -
you dislocated your knee batting - wearing spikes or sometrhing and foot being stuck...??? I haven't heard of anything like that before - although in my time at the crease reackon I hace swung that hard my shoulders have been in danger of leavinf the sockets!

Get well soon! -
Recurring injury... it's a piss-weak knee and I was driving on the back foot and didn't have my weight over my knee properly.

I am wondering if I wasn't so over-weight if it would have collapsed like it did  -
Went for my first run again since doing my knee in. Was uncomfortable but OK. Only a 2 miler but I was able to 'sprint' the last 200 metres up a hill. I haven't lost as much fitness as I thought I had.

I have also been doing weights at the gym for conditioning rather than trying to get stronger/heavier -
good stuff mate - started weights again here too - mate's got the home gym set up again, and lloving it, three days in a row, and body knows about it!! Still rowing hard out, and adding weights on top of that, so will be interesting to see what happens to the body with this sort of regime!!

I've purposely been avoiding this as everytime I post in here I either get slack or injured. I thought I would give it a few weeks before noting what I have done.

Really ebjoying the weights again. First time I've done them properly since 2000. When I say properly, I'm not trying to build bulk, just trying to to and get some consistancy again.

I am really surprised at how weak my right leg and left arm are. -
Boxing today and there were an uneven number. The instructer walked up to me and said that as I was the fattest, I had to keep the gloves on for the whole time.

I seriously thought I was going to have an Asthma attack. By the end of the class, a five year old school girl could have mugged me -

:happy:Â Funnily enough I tried to slip a jab through his pads onto the nose, but he's too quick and ducked and slapped me with the pad at the same time.

Rowing and weights today -
Just completed two weeks of weights as I try and build up my knee. I have also done a stack of upper body as well. It amazes the difference just two weeks can make. Been keeping up with the exercise as well.

Not doing super heavy weights, just doing medium wieghts but really slowly controlled in both directions. It really takes it out of me and I find it much harder than quickly pushing out high reps on heavy weights. -

Looooooooong way to go before I lose that much weight, but on the right track all the same -

Ive joined the gym since arrived here and been going 3 or 4 times a week and you're right, feel great after a few weeks of weights.
Cheers JK. I always forget how good I can feel when fit compared to when I get lazy -
Went to the Gym 6 times last week and played squash on top of that. 3 rows and 2 boxing sessions as well as weights through the week.

That's 2 weeks running and I got up early this morniong for a 40 minute row but didn't have the energy to complete it, so went on a bike as well.

The funny thing is that I feel heaps better and have maybe lost a little round the face but, I'm sure I have put weight on as a pair of jeans that fit two weeks ago no longer fit. Can't think why though.
