Yep, that rule should be to prevent and penalise situations in which a player doesn't genuinely attempt to catch the ball - or doesn't have a realistic chance of a success in their attempt - and only knocks the ball on to interrupt the opponent's play. If they penalise it like this, they discourage players from making genuine and realistic attempts, too.

    Kenya giving SA a lesson.

Do you not have to support your own weight at the breakdown in 7s? So many let go in order to keep game flowing?

@taniwharugby I missed that game. The huge score suggests that either SA gave up after their loss yesterday, or they weren't good anyway.

@Stargazer kenya scored twice in last couple of mins, once with a man in the bin.

They were just more composed, SA made errors and Kenya punished them.

I know Paul Feeney is responsible for the coaching of all Kenyan national teams. Is he actually coaching them here in Hamilton, or is his role more that of a director of rugby?

Still not an impressive crowd in Hamilton. Very far from a sell-out. I hope it improves during the afternoon.

Wrong decision. That wasn't a knock on by Argentina.

This pool proves that a team that loses a pool game can still reach the semis. In this case, the Aussies. who lost to Fiji, yesterday.

If the USA beat Wales with a 73 point margin, they're going through to the semis if NZ loses to Scotland.

The USA are definitely trying to get that margin, but time isn't on their side.

    USA beat Wales 42 - 0.

That means NZ is through, regardless of the result of this game against Scotland.
