    I missed the start of the game (was watching 7s). Domingo Miotti scored the first try for the Jaguares and converted his own try.

    Jaguares lead 7 to nil.

    You can say about Rasta what you want, but finally a ref who tells the reserve players to stay out of the in-goal area. Those Lions players should just go back to the side of the field. The strip of grass next to the in-goal area in this stadium is way too small.

    A try to Andre Warner and a penalty goal from Elton Jantjies later, and the Lions are leading 8 to 7.

    Half time: Jaguares 10 - 8 Lions

    The Jaguares looking much better than the Lions, but giving away too many penalties.

    Have seen some great passages of play from the Argentinians, with some great passing, only for the last player to stuff up and knock the ball on.

    Not much to get excited about the Lions' attack. Quite a boring team to watch, but their defence is good enough for the Jaguares to make errors.

    @Stargazer

    Jaguares have been very good but their 2 Achilles Heels are flaring up:

    1. Scrum is garbage - worst in comp
    2. Penalties 7 in a half is way too many gifting Lions territory

    JC Mallia is a livewire at 2nd 1st Five - guy to watch out for in SR in 2020

    A well-deserved try for the Jaguares, scored by Moroni, despite having a man in the bin.

    Awesome second try to Moroni, just after the Jaguares made a whole range of changes (at least 3-4 players coming off the bench).

    Jaguares lead 24 - 8 after 60 minutes

    Lions losing big. The lastest Jaguares' try scored by Creevy.

    38 - 8 Jaguares with 5 minutes to go.

    FT: Jaguares 38 - 8 Lions

    Solid win, but with enough work-ons, for the Jaguares. Especially discipline a big issue.

    The Lions? I don't expect them to reach the finals with this squad.

    @Machpants

    That game would be ominous viewing for a Canes fan
    Jaguares won by 30 & had plenty in the tank

    Jags seem a more dynamic team this year More competition for spots as well

    Canes better turn up or they'll get properly embarrassed

    @Machpants They should fly Coles to Buenos Aires pronto, for some extra strength in the frontrow and added leadership.
    Start Walker-Leawere instead of Blackwell, for extra strength and height. It won't happen, but start Flanders at 6 instead of Prinsep.

    Move Goosen to 11 and start Aso at 14. Move Lam to the bench and send PU-J to the stands.

    (and kidnap McClutchie from Japan)

    I was waiting for Rasta to screw something up for my tipping and right near the end a promising possession by the Jags was shutdown by an offside player. He calls advantage but then calls advantage off after the Jags have gone backwards.
    I had them at highest score and one more try would have got them there.

    Easier win for them then I thought it would be but the Lions look very underwhelming his year..
