7km yesterday, 3 and a bit today. Thank fuck for baseball caps otherwise my hair wouldn't allow me to do half of that.
Seem to be pretty much sitting just under 92kg now and noticeable body changes, especially around the midriff and thighs. What used to be a good pot belly is now more like a pouch belly and looks ridiculous though.
Rugby training again tomorrow.
92kg isn’t too fat. It’s not like you’re under 5 foot....or do you pose with midgets on FB ?
6'. Or about 6'6" without a baseball cap.
Can't ever take the fro outta the Jew bro.....

Survived rugby training number 2. Realising it's gonna be a bloody hard slog getting the rugby wits back, but ahh well might as well eh! Reactions and vision (not eyesight) just not at the level of everyone else after so many years off.
A bit frustrating but being an unco fucker that's how any sport/activity has been for me and at least I know for this one the level I can get to, so will push on.
Another 4.5km yesterday too.
Right Achilles (at the base by the heel) really starting to flare up and really stiff when not warmed up. Hopefully just getting used to movement.

Tick for training number 3.
Right calf is threatening to blow, but managing to keep it under control so far.
Last couple of trainings, instead of the bronco, the drill we've had is 15 seconds to run 50m (or 60 or 70 depending on your bronco result), 15 secs rest, then back. That 3 times is a set. 3 sets the first night, 3.5 sets the second night.
Holding my own - particularly funny running alongside the (very handy) first five that's been there the last couple of years, mouthing off at the asst coach when told to work harder, saying he's tapering and he's old. He's 33. Pulled out shortly after when his hammy blew.
5km this morning and UB workout mid morning. Been lazy on those so last one was a week ago which made it that much harder today!
Drills and exercises luckily are exactly what I need to get back into it - all about handling and space, both on defence and attack. Sloooooowly starting to come back.
Oh and my knees fucken hate me.

Well I rested one day.....
Body did love me for it and knees felt much better, calf seems good. Have picked up a tube of deep heat and will get that in regularly, Wednesday will be the day to see how it's coming along.
7km yesterday, 3km and a bit of UB today.
Feel like a weekend of steak, biltong, bacon and good amounts of booze probably hasn't helped the weight....but it was fun.

Na you’ll be ok that’s just good quality protein.
Biltong is the greatest snack known to man

Yeah I thought this shit was supposed to get easier?
Another couple of trainings, this time had to skip brief parts of the fitness drill each time as body just said nah.
Cones at 5m, 10m, 20m. Out to 5, backwards to line, down up and out to ten, turn and back, down up and out to 20, turn and back. That's one rep.
45 seconds rest between each of:
one rep
Two reps
Two reps
Three reps
One rep
One repThird rep was a definite no go. After the first two rep I was pretty much just walking.
Don't feel like I'm improving much on that front but at least seem to be getting some awareness back on the attacking/defending drills (that aren't shitty made up games that I'll never understand).

Riiiiight....18 days ago? Shit it's been up and down.
Ended up pulling out on rugby training two Thursdays ago after about ten minutes, body just said no. So also decided to have the following Tuesday off, which was the right idea.
So back last Thursday and just as tough as previously, had to ditch a couple of the legs on conditioning. Bronco last night and came in at 5:33 probably at about 90% so bloody happy with that. Really good drills last night and starting to feel like I'm getting some mojo back.
Gym is open! Stoked to be getting in some decent tin throwing and the hard work during lockdown has left us a little bit stronger but wit a whole lot more endurance, it's great.

@MajorRage glute strain! Jesus! I don't think I could even imagine the effort required to produce an injury like that anymore. Sucks bro, sorry to hear.
Ahh well when you get better you can grab your boots and come join me in the FR down at 'nam.

@Bones you can do it too in 5 easy steps:
- Be older than 40
- Be overweight
- Run 1500k in 9 months culminating in a marathon
- Go mountain biking with your kids every second day for 4 months
- Ignore every warning sign that you are close to an injury
