    Televised games this week:

Thursday 20th at 11:30am - Hamilton Boys v Tauranga Boys - LIVE on Sky Sport NZ and PRIME.

    Hamilton BHS won 37-0.

Speaking to one of the Sky guys the OBU trucks had to drive up from Wellington while staff came from Welly, Hawke's Bay and even Chch.

Angus Ta'avao was the co-commentator so he can't be in the Auckland bubble.

@Bovidae Yep, and to a charging Goon HS side. They're doing what Burnside and to a lesser extent Aranui HS threatened to do in years gone by and really shaking things up amongst the traditional, largely boy's only schools. If there is a national co-ed tourney this year, they'll clean up.

@shark There is no Top 4 tournament this year so the local competitions will be the only titles up for grabs.

Rangiora has often been the SI representative. If St Kents declare for the co-ed, like they did last year, they usually win it.

@shark Only once in the last 10 years. If you mean the SI, I don't know, but I have watched Rangiora play on TV for the Top 4.

    2019 Saint Kentigern College
    2018 St Peter's Cambridge
    2017 St Peter’s, Cambridge
    2016 Feilding High School
    2015 St Andrew’s College
    2014 Feilding High School
    2013 Tangaroa College
    2012 Onehunga High School
    2011 St Kentigern College
    2010 St Kentigern College

@Bovidae Maybe I just thought that because STAC are the SI representative more often than not? But that could be wrong too!!

After checking you are right. STAC has also featured at the Top 4 co-ed tournament in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2017 and 2019.

It was the 2018 final I watched when Rangiora High School lost to St Peter's Cambridge.

The CNI semi-finalists will only be decided after the final round this coming Sat.

In the North, the winner of the St Peter's vs Wesley game should join St Paul's, assuming they beat the winless FDMC away.

In the South, the winner of Whanganui Collegiate vs Feilding High School will finish 1st and the loser 2nd. All playoff games are to be played in Taupo.

What’s happening with the 1A? Will they be playing mid week games to catch up or are they just going to cancel the rounds they missed

As is there is no national Top 4, and the qualifying games associated with those, they could probably just resume playing when allowed.

STAC have really gone off the boil. After being 9/9 and having beaten St Bedes and CBHS, they've now lost to Goon HS and Jocks in consecutive weeks. But it's possibly worse than that. A Dad who has a son in the side and knows plenty about the game, reckons they've been getting incrementally worse for weeks now.

St Bedes draw with Marlborough which probably means we can't make the top 4, which is likeky to be STAC, Goon, College and a charging CBHS, who'll probably take it out.

@Kiwiwomble Same. I love watching 1st XV rugby.

I'm also not convinced that broadcasting the games in itself is the problem. If games aren't broadcast or streamed, scouts will still go to games and pick the talent that they want to sign straight out of school. Similarly, the media will still go to games, and write and hype up certain players.
