@voodoo Definitely don't be offended. Sometimes I take the piss on here (oh really, they all say).
Your covid saga actually has been quite the drama. Don't kill your children before your wife gets to see them again. Got that?
Afterwards is out of our hands.
Afterwards, she will be spending a LOT of quality mum-time with the little
fuckersdarlings... -

I'm aliiiiive!!!!!!!
All went pretty smooth in the end. Up at 4am, easy drive to Akl, 5mins wait with the police at the border.
All the airline staff were awesome, plane totally empty, and the pokice and army at the Sydney end were all great.
Ended up at the Meriton Suites in the CBD - 2 bed, 2 bath, 3 tv apartment on the 29th floor, ocean glimpses west and north, city views south, and a balcony with real fresh air. Really cant complain!
Aside from the fucken NBA being cancelled of course!!!
Meriton is good, which one though, Kent St or Campbell St or the one closer to CQ? Probably better than the Liv apartments near me.

@Nepia Sussex St, opposite the CBA building. View through the gap to the Blue Mountains and South past the airport
Cool, I haven't been in that one, but have been in the other two mentioned and the Pitt St one as staff members in an old job always used to stay there when coming to visit us in Sydney.

@Nepia yeah, beautiful outside today Sep always seems to be pretty good before it turns to crop again in Oct/Nov!
I just hope for no bushfires this summer - we basically didn't have a summer pre covid because of them.

Yeah, I guess the 'no' was a bit of stretch, so I should rephrase that to normal levels of bushfire, unlike last years batshit crazy levels.

Wonder Woman 1984
Context: So, on a road trip around Northland, I realise one tyre is down to the wire, and I limp into Whangarei. On New Years Day, with everything shutdown. I've now got 4 days to kill until a motorcycle workshop opens on Tuesday (hopefully)... and the “National Clock Museum” can only hold my interest for about an hour.
So, to the movies it is... with a limited selection.
Wonder Woman, following the current trend of fucking everything being set in, or referencing, the 80s.
And I get that the silliness, plotholes, overall terribleness, can partially be explained away by “homage to the 80s movies”... but... it was fucking awful. Silliness, plotholes, overall terrible.
And then, on my walk back to dodgy hotel... all the pubs are bloody closed, at like 7pm on a Sunday.
What the fuck?
2 Gal is rather hot out of 5 fuck off the 80s.
Just fuck off.
Edit: and now I've got one more day to kill... and the other movie available looks even worse... Monster Hunter.national clock museum you say?
