I honestly do not get it, there are many wingers running around in Wales who are 100x better footballers than Cuthbert is, Eli Walker, Hallam Amos, heck even Matthew Morgan or the reserve half back Lloyd Williams (who now drops out for Rhys Webb) would do a better job than him, or give some international experience to young Tyler Morgan(who is a OC, but obviously isnt going to replace JD just yet). It just leaves me begging why Wales carry two forwards on the wings when they got young talent available.

Agreed.

But I think Walker and T Morgan are injured. Amos just back from injury.

And M Morgan not big enough in Gatland's eyes.

I understand the sizething to a degree, he is very small, but he is brave in defence. And Cuthbert is not exactly the best defender out there.

Cuthbert is there because Gatland picks guys he feels will fit into the Warrenball strategy. He has big lumps like Roberts and North who can actually play which is ideal but the next choice is big lumps that can't. Last cab off the rank is small guys that can play.

Watson or Nowell as the back up 15 I guess. Not too disappointed in that call although Tuilagi looked a little short of a gallop v Exeter last Sunday. Let's hope he doesn't have to go on in the first five minutes.

Daly is probably the second best full back in the squad, so would expect him to switch there, should Brown be injured.

Strong squad overall, with the potential for plenty of impact from the bench.

In other news, George drops out with a bicep injury (8-10 weeks out), so Cowan-Dickie set to start on the bench. Good to have around the park, but would be a concern with any late must win lineouts.

The England bench is built for impact, but an early injury that brings Cowan-Dickie or Tuilagi into the game before the last 20 would really worry me.

Early injury in the centres, put Daly in, keep Manu for the last quarter - if that's indeed Eddie's plan?

I didn't realise that Daly had played much at full back. Good cover options on the bench now though.

Great utilities brought through at Beckenham obviously due to great role models...

The Irish selection for this weekend is the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned for Schmidt ever coaching a NZ Super rugby team, let alone NZ.

Just awful.

Still playing when I can, although just the odd appearance for the vets etc at the moment. Wanting one more season in the 1s next season when I get more time.

It's that 'one more season' that's the killer (where is a 'knackered knees' smiley when I need it?)

Good on you mate. I started my excuse for a rugby career just down the road in Orpington and played against Becks a couple of times. Before your time though. Sadly.

Nearly there - I hate the two hiatus weekends of the 6N, so childishly excited by the prospect of tomorrow's games. Predictions as follows: Ireland to prevail over Italy, but unconvincingly; Scotland to do a number on France; England to beat Wales by <10, by dint of home advantage and a better bench. If Joubert attempts to beat his 100m PB at the close of play, that will be the icing on the cake.
