I feel like it could be the actual coverage.

I've done about a dozen of the WOAP burgers, I think.
I don't even like burgers. Messy shits of things to eat. Especially when some pretentious prick decides their special even tburger should have some booze-gravy poured over it and flambéed.

Was in Queenstown at weekend. Even though the foreign tourists are gone the queue for Fergburgers was still insane.

    D.O.E.S. NO.T. C.O.M.P.U.T.E.

I had one 20 years ago on Redbeards recommendation and it was nothing special but at least it had the gimmick of being massive. The ones I saw all the sheeple hoeing into just looked like your bog standard Macca's.

Fair play to whoever controls the Fergs empire but you're just being duped by a marketing campaign people.

I've never seen any marketing from them. Where have you seen that?

Thought that they had just earned a rep for good burgers? I've had a few, they are pretty good - definitely not maccas. You might be a bit out of date with the 20 years ago?

    You are dead to me.

In an attempt to regain your precious affections, I figured I'd spend my work hours in listing out the burgers I've had over the last couple of weeks...

    • Fork & Brewer - the first... I believe it had "Wagyu brisket"... and I remember thinking "they're now just taking the piss with the wagyu "brand"... there's no need for "wagyu brisket". Decent enough burger. The beer match was Garage Project's "Pickle Beer" they've brewed for the occasion. This is exactly what it says on the tin. I very much like both pickles, and sour beers... and even I was a bit taken aback by it. I've had another since... and enjoyed it. But if you don't like pickles or don't like sours... avoid.
    • D4 on Featherston - Karaage in a bun, effectively. This was the first one where I realised there was supposed to be a theme to all the burgers - something about "things we have in common"... and this one was based on a Japanese chef, designing something about whatever Japan and Ireland had in common. So... fried chicken. Edamame beans. Potatoes, in a soup?
    • The Featherston - something about the Raj Mahal... an indian themed/spiced chicken burger.
    • Honey Badger - smashed up brisket patties... tasty, but one of the messier ones to eat
    • Little Beer Quarter - sausages, and patty, and god knows what else. Big, impossible to eat. Beer match was another Garage Project special for the burger month - a pretzel beer. Didn't enjoy.
    • Dillingers - more wagyu brisket, but a proper patty. chips with a fuck-ton of truffle & parmesan. Burger had boozy-gravy poured over it and set alight, because... Dillingers?
    • Occidental/Old Bailey - lamb/venison burger - tasty. But... game fries, without any gravy. The whole fucking point of game fries is as a gravy delivery system.

Maybe one or two others I've forgotten... but nowhere near a dozen. And I sure as hell ain't managing 86 by the end of the month.

    Game fries?

Those burgers sound yummy! I'm not a massive burger person because for some reason they seem to arrive in Brioche Buns and I hate brioche and savoury!

    Shit, I've gone seppo.
Game chips. Although, now I think on it, perhaps they weren't true game chips, but rather "waffle fries".
One of the other burgers on that list came with them too... but they were good fluffybunnies and provided gravy. Little Beer Quarter, maybe?

It's not the Chips or Fries that is causing me confusion, it is the "game" part? Makes them sound like they are pheasant or duck fries but then you mention gravy like Poutine? I'm avoiding google as TSF is essentially my google.

game chips - effectively a replacement for french fries, but they're like a thinly sliced lattice of deep-fried potato - customarily served with game dishes. That's the only reason they're called game chips - to my understanding.
And game always comes with gravy... so I'm very accustomed to game chips with gravy.
Shit - now I'm thinking of, and very much missing, The Jugged Hare in London. I lived a 5 minute walk from it, until this stupid "yearly flu" forced me into getting a job in NZ.
