@Yeetyaah I hoped, but knew they'd be toast with thier injury list.

Eke, hope he's ok, we don't want to get down to our 3rd number 8. 😉

may as well promote HB after that...be far too strong for the virgin finalists next week.

Reckon HB do look a bit vulnerable in the mid-field and wider, but try to muscle up and you will get done.

Actually you have a point there. It is noticeable that when the opposition pass laterally in the backs, our backs seem to go across in defence rather than up to challenge the ball carrier.

Have you got a centre with a huge bum? Although his influence declined as the game wore on.

Why did the Naki Islanders have a prayer circle? They got hammered.

@Nepia ,Not an unexpected result in the scheme of things ..Taranaki looked like a team that limped to the finals and without so many of their better bodies missing ..this was only ever going one way ..

@Nepia Praying they can play for the Magpies, next year?

Just came home form my mates' place where we watched the game and celebrated with a pint, or two.

What an awesome game! If the Magpies hadn't taken the foot of the Naki throat, the score could have been a lot uglier for the amber and blacks. Still room for improvement; it was a bit too much helter skelter IMO, but it seemed to confuse the Naki enough to open the floodgates.

Man, why isn't Dixon an All Black. I keep on wondering. He was awesome.

Fakatava was on fire again; really, he should overtake Hammington at the Highlanders, next year. It would be bloody awesome if the Landers signed McClutchie, too, because that combo has the future! They've been playing side by side for 5 years now, and can only get better.

Geoff Cridge had a great game, too. I think he's underrated.

And how about that try from Rakete-Stones. Brilliant!

I hope this game hasn't done too much damage. Makene, Flanders, Mikaele-Tu'u all left the field prematurely. Toala can cover 10 if Makene can't play (and McClutchie starts), but Flanders and MMT are irreplaceable.

Edited to add that McClutchie's boot was 100% on target. His kicking has improved a lot, this year.

Injury update from the HBT article below:

First five Caleb Makene had to receive stitches after picking up a cut to his mouth, while the loose forward pair of Devan Flanders and Marino Mikaele-Tu'u both passed their head injury assessments after leaving the field.
