So you're 177 Kg and you're wife is 47Kg?

I think Nicks suggestion of finding a training partner is a great call and well worth it. Training of any kind is much harder on your own because you are alone with your thoughts and struggles.

The trick is not to start off with a hiss and a roar, it's to keep your spirits up and do it week in week out for 18 months and for gods sake stay away from junk food or places where it may be. The results will be worth it.
......you're starting out you're horrified to think that photos of you at your fattest, with your shirt off, might make it out onto the internet.

as happened to Nicko...... 😁
horrible thopught that it might be, take some photos - I wish I had some photos from when I was at my fattest, and now.

This whole thing will snowball, you'll be running marathons in a year!!

And those photos - when you have those bad days and periods when you can't be fucked - stick on on the fridge door, that'll turn you around!!
I found a photo of me in January before losing just 6kg and the difference is very noticable. Definitely a good way to measure progress (the scales can stall sometimes even though you are still making progress).

Good luck FFB, am sure'll you'll make it. I've found using Barts method of recording as much as possible really good and mainting things as well. Record weight, progress with your exercising, all that stuff. It's amazing how much you can trick yourself into eating crap and not exercising and you can't argue with what you are actually doing when it's in black and white.

photos - I have a photo from Christmas a couple of years ago...

WOuld have been topping out at about 120kgs then...

Yes, that is my Christmas shirt...

So a photo will do the trick I am sure, and yes, record everything - great when you see times come down and distances / weights increase. And remember, you are not competiting with anyone but yourself on those things!!
I probably have a photo of myself at 130kg somewhere, which is scary, but could be good motivation... Should also dig up a photo of me as a gym-junkie 18-19yo while at Uni as a roadmap. :nta

best wishes for the op fbb......given todays medicine, it's probably a pretty minor procedure, is it? Anyways, you'll be kicking goals in no time, I'm sure <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Hard though it is to conceive, when I tell people I'm 115 they think I'm bullshitting - and reckon I'm closer to 100.... :nta I've got skinny ankles though...

back home after a night in hospital, all is well. Only 2 glasses of apple juice in last 3 days. Back on optifast diet for 4 weeks, then the band which they have put in will be tightened and basically will have to have entree size meals after that.
Won't be weighing myself for a couple of weeks (my scales stop at 150kg) but will start exercise tomorrow.
