Hard though it is to conceive, when I tell people I'm 115 they think I'm bullshitting - and reckon I'm closer to 100.... :nta I've got skinny ankles though...

back home after a night in hospital, all is well. Only 2 glasses of apple juice in last 3 days. Back on optifast diet for 4 weeks, then the band which they have put in will be tightened and basically will have to have entree size meals after that.
Won't be weighing myself for a couple of weeks (my scales stop at 150kg) but will start exercise tomorrow.

First point you're probably onto already: ease into the exercise. You've got a fair bit of stored energy in fat reserves, but will feel weak as a large, bald kitten <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Once you get going - well, see Noddy's Wesley Weight Management thread for inspiration!

Second point: And this is for everyone - if you need a set of scales that go up to 150kg, you may also be forced into surgery! No offence big fellah :shifty:

Dead right Nick, Was feeling stir crazy so suggested to the missus to go to Coogee for a walk, after 10 minutes was exhausted and in pain , so i think i should relax for a few days and get over the op. Played 18 holes on monday (all walked) , it is amazing what an op can take out of you.
P.s.Star watch:My wife bought a pie (Garlo's pies)and in the shop were Billy Slater and Matt King from the Melbourne Storm.

Now down to 157.5 lost 3 kg since last Thursday (5 days). Lost 20 kg in 7 weeks so that is 1 less bag of cement i have to carry around. I still have to wait 14 days to my 1st band fill when the op will really kick in.
My 40th is this weekend and have 5 mates coming over from NZ and a couple coming up from Melbourne , so 3 days of binge drinking are going to be very hard on the body as i haven't had a decent drink for a month but being on a liquid diet for that time will definitely help.

Don't go too hard on the booze! Without preaching, you're going to have to make a lifestyle change with or without the operation to keep your weight down. Binge drinking is a really efficient way to put on weight.
Moderation is the key, get pissed by all means but be sensible.

mate - that's fantastic. Keep it up. Don't get too into the drink - your mates should understand.

20kgs!! That's a lot. I've lost that and a little more since January and keep trying to relate it back to things. For instance its two of my middle son (he weighs about 11kgs) and he's bloody heavy to carry.
My timing for my 40th aint the best, but i got 100 people coming on Saturday night and only a few know i've had the op, so it will be very hard, especially as it takes me about 45 minutes to drink a bottle of beer ,the chances of getting blind are slim.
My skulling days are over ( i was very good at it) . I hope the boys will understand . I am only allowed 30mls per mouthful of liquid at a time so Tequila shots it is.

Drinking piss is overrated anyway mate. I dont want to end up like an old dude with a judges nose and gout. Ive sunk a tonne of piss back in the day and do still go out on the piss once a month or so ( my kids put a stop to my heavy boozing weekends). Im almost ashamed to admit I quite often prefer a good coffee over a beer thesedays. Good luck with your recovery, sounds like you are doing great.
