This game might start at 11.00am!!

The time of 11.30am comes from the schedule on the NZR website, their earlier media release and is in the media release with the Chiefs team naming, but the Hurricanes graphic with the team naming and the Sky Sport schedule both seem to indicate the game starts at 11.00am!

Yeah, it looks like an 11 am start. I'm playing sport myself at that time so will record and watch this evening.

    My first half impressions:

Chiefs U20s dominating and much better at taking their opportunities, but the Hurricanes scrum is a thing of beauty; overpowering the Chiefs' scrum every single time.

Great first try to Wrampling for the Chiefs after a great chip kick from Cashmore. Hurricanes right wing Malu missed the tackle.

Forgot who scored the second Chiefs try, was it Broughten?, but the Chiefs move totally confused the Canes' defence and Ropeti and Higgins just let Broughten walk through. Bad miss.

Lakai went over for a beautiful try for the Canes. He has a really great workrate and strong leg-drive. One to watch for the future.

In 22th minute, Malu was replaced by Thompson-Dunn, not sure why (he didn't look injured).

A terrible Hurricanes l/o close to the Cane's try line was caught by Broughten, who was allowed to run straight to the try line and score.

Higgins had a chance to re-deem his earlier mistake with a nice break but his try-scoring attempt was short. A few minutes later, Ropeti did score beautifully.

Chiefs looked the stronger team for the first quarter, but gradually the Hurriances seemed to take over the momentum. They just didn't take their chances and put more points on the board.

Who have really impressed me during this first half was Lucas Casmore and Nikora Broughten for the Chiefs (there were a few more), and Gavigan, Howden and Lakai for the Hurricanes. A bit disappointing were the Chiefs' frontrow and Canes' starting midfield; Canes' hooker Strang and Higgins having a bit of a mare.

    Half time: Chiefs U20 25 - 12 Hurricanes U20

Higgins scores the first try of the second half, but that was all thanks to a brilliant break from Godfrey, who has also been good thus far.

@stargazer unfortunalty you can't view this on Sky Go so will need to catch a replay somewhere before making any assumptions.

    What's the score?

Good try to Riley Higgins; some quick thinking, taking the quick tap and he's in.

Chiefs still leading 32 - 26, but Canes are slowly getting closer ...

@canes4life Nope. Straight to tv via chromecast.

I've never been asked for a pin. Only a password now and then (after an update for example). Not today.

@stargazer Ive finally got in, not sure what's going on. Sheesh should have scored there, Higgins should have taken the contact.

Hows Morgan going? After he was considered an option as the Canes 1st (before Love).

@winger Very mixed bag. His option-taking is a bit off at times, but also some really nice kicks. Definitely not ready for SR. Same with tackling. Some bad misses, but also made some great ones.

Canes look like their own worst enemy, as per usual the set piece looks a bit shite. Lineout has been horrible.

@canes4life Both Canes' hookers are very average.

The little I've seen of him (SFA) he didn't even look close to being robust enough at this time for super rugby. Give him a few years and lots of body building and then maybe.

@canes4life It's his side of the scrum that's holding. It goes wrong at TH. Can't do it on his own.
