Looking at the schedule, the Kiwi action for the rest of the day is on the cycling track.

Medal round for team time trial? Not good with terms. I like the pursuit, very exciting

The Halbergs are going to be brutal this year. Team of the year especially. Carrington a contender to be nominated for both woman and team now?

Team of the year is going to be mental. Team NZ, black caps, men's 8, women's pair, women's sevens, k2 500 have already achieved enough to be finalists normally.

Also, well done Caitlin Regal, winning her first Olympic gold medal.

MOST OLYMPIC MEDALS WON BY NEW ZEALANDERS
    > 5: Lisa Carrington (including 4 gold), Ian Ferguson (4 gold), Paul MacDonald (3 gold), Mark Todd (2 gold).
4: Valerie Adams (2 gold), Blyth Tait (1 gold).
3: Peter Snell (3 gold), Hamish Bond (3 gold), Simon Dickie (2 gold), Danyon Loader (2 gold), Mahe Drysdale (2 gold), Barbara Kendall (1 gold), Andrew Nicholson (0 gold).

K4 500m and K1 500m, good chance of another to become our Olympic GOAT of GOATs

So the Aussies were right, our top medallists all do it on their backside.

If Lisa was an American she would be a multimillionaire. As it is she has to do it for the love and admiration of our nation

    Certainly got the latter.

    Michaela and Portia too.

Was it ever in doubt? Have Burling and Tuke raced?

@bovidae Need to finish ahead of GBR and Spain to take gold basically? 3 way race for the medals.

Right now, I'd say Lisa Carrington for SOTY, and Black Caps for TOTY. For the Caps to do what they did, with the resources they ahd was sensational. Lisa - just incredible; two golds so far, and a lifetime haul of 4 is insane.

Ah, also men's shotput qualification (group A, Walsh) at 10.15pm, women's hammer throw final (Ratcliffe) at 11.35pm and more men's shotput qualification (group B, Gill) at 11.40pm.

Also 🏇🏿 jumping individual qualifiers at 10.00pm, but there's the horses doing the work.

Lead changes all over the place, could basically throw a blanket over the top 5. Why can't they be more like Lisa Carrington? Jut lead comfortably from start to finish and save us all the stress...

After first leg GBR with comfortable lead, Ger 2nd and NZL third. Spain dunk their boat and are in 4th about 50m behind NZL.
