Modern Pentathlon is weird, I like the combination of running, swimming, shooting and fencing, but why would you have riding there, when the athletes are randomly allotted the horses - way too much luck involved. The German leading athlete has just lost her almost guaranteed medal because she couldn't get the horse to work, and she was crying her heart out before and out during the attempt.

The chance that your horse has already been taken for an earlier round by a worse rider who has barrelled through several fences.

Although the event is based on an officer escaping from behind enemy lines and stealing a random horse.

I got roped into the uni MP team after one guy broke his leg falling off a horse, as I could ride well. Ended up doing two MP competitions having hastily learned basic fencing technique. It is a bit mad, but awesome awesome fun. @Rapido the horse draw is an absolute mind fk alright, you only get to sit on it for 20mins and have a couple of warm up jumps before you're up.

    Displays tremendous horseman/womanship.

    Fantastic result for French GB

    4 x 100m women's relay. A heap of athleticism in this race.

No Jamaica, no Japan and no US - in the top 3.

    Amazing Italy. Love it.

If I was a betting man, I would have put my money on Kipyegon.

Yep. Kipyegon has always had that burst. Amazing 1500m runner. In Rio with 200 to go she was neck a neck with another runner and she found another gear and won it easy.

I'm happy that Allyson Felix got herself a bronze in the 400 m final but Shaunae Miller-Uibo was in a class of her own. It helps to be so tall.

    She’s really impressive to watch.

Especially when she stays upright and is not diving…. 😉

Penalty shootout to decide the women’s football gold medal.

First ever time in a women’s gold medal match.

I almost feel sick for these girls!
