Taranaki looking good to grab a 2nd premiership scalp.., there forwards have been outstanding…to early to call..?
Possibly a bit early!

Wellington were crap, it pains me to say it but they look destined for the Championship next year. Taranaki without being spectacular never really looked like losing that game so well played to the Bulls.
The Lions forwards once again played like pussycats and PUJ proved when he came on that he should have been starting from the outset.
We need to keep Love at 10 aswell otherwise we won’t be winning another game this season.

That would be exciting, may as well move the Canes to Hawkes Bay if that was the case, probably wash the yellow out of the jerseys too. Sounds perfect.

@kev thought the Naki forwards were superb, both around the paddock and at set piece and in the main just showed enough control .
Wellington have a ton of talent and plenty of attack , but is also offset with so much indiscipline..
That should put the Naki in good stead for their game against BOP next week , potentially a Ranfurly Shield challenge.. -

Castle with confirmation of Thompson signing for the Chiefs.
@Bovidae Where did you find that info?
Ben Castle was part of the commentary team in this game and mentioned it when there was a scrum. He said something like "two Chiefs hookers packing against each other" referring to Slater and Thompson. He then mentioned that Thompson has signed for the Chiefs. You will need to watch the full game to hear it.

Isn’t Castle apart of the talent identification team at the Canes? Therefore he pretty much announced that he failed at his job.

I ironically was just thinking that, think he’d better stick to his job as a commentator because he’s rubbish at talent identifying.

Why do you assume the Canes didn't offer him a contract?
It's seems more likely he had a few options and opted for the Chiefs?

@canes4life Yep, and despite Riccitelli leaving.
