Holy moly! I expected an easy win for the Kauri, but the Tui just beat them in a very close match, thanks to a Subritzky-Nafatali yellow card and Cottrell missing all but one conversion.

    FT: Northland 26 - 27 Hawke's Bay (HT: 21 - 10)

The Tui will be blown away by the Cyclones next week though.

The final will be going ahead.

Waikato’s rugby teams have got the green light to resume training in Cambridge after fleeing Hamilton to avoid being locked down as parts of the region moved to Covid-19 alert level 3 on Sunday night.

Most of the players and staff from Waikato’s men’s and women’s teams relocated to the Podium Lodge in Cambridge under strict Covid-19 protocols and couldn't train together until all returning negative tests.

All of those tests came back negative, Waikato Rugby chief executive Carl Moon told Stuff on Tuesday, and the women’s team will be flying to Christchurch to play Canterbury in Saturday’s Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) premiership final.

@bovidae The Premiership Final should be a really good game. It was so close, last year. I expect the same, this year.

The Championship Final will probably be another bloodbath. The Cyclones have been so much better than the other Championship sides. The real contest was last week's semi.

Willison is the oldest player in the backs and she is 23. A bit more experience in the forwards with Hohepa and Edmonds.

Jorja Miller obviously over the injury that forced her off the field against Otago. Looked like something around her knee so surprised she's back so soon.

Are the rules different in FPC. Anyone watching the final see that Waikato had a penalty advantage but were held up over the line and the ref blew for half time. Am I missing something?

This ref is fucking awful. Canterbury so cynical and they get 2 warnings with no card.
