Got my tickets, looks to be selling well already, wild guess 2/3 -3/4 taken or at least not available for purchase

two things, super expensive, $200 bucks for lvl 3 near the 22, the $99 tickets are back row behind the goal kind of stuff

and i only just realised its a thursday night, i assume thats so it doesn't clash with AFL finals going on at the same time....but maybe not the best time to have the game in melbourne

oh well, doesn't happen often so i'll be there!

I think it's a smart decision with the AFL on to have the game on Thursday.

State of Origin has no problem with mid-week games and AFL Thursday night games are fairly common (there was one last night).

The stadium is easy to get to right in the city and kick-off not until 7.45pm local time (probably later knowing Aus Rugby and their kickoff times).

Thinking about going down for it. Just a weird time considering I'm also heading down for Melbourne Cup week

If we're talking children's cartoons, maybe something like this is more relevant considering the stadium's naming sponsor...

We live in port melbourne and the couple of mates were going with are In Southbank, all within stumbling distance

Probably pre game at the Maori chief

@booboo MCG is shocking to watch rugby at. Have watched both league and rugby there and it’s not a great experience.

    Got my ticket, can't wait.

Also didn't realise it wasn't on a weekend until I went to put it in my calendar. I've got a hunch that Friday 16th will be a work from home day.

I've got bad news for you

Bledisloe rivalry to be renewed at the MCG in 2023

Bledisloe rivalry to be renewed at the MCG in 2023

Rugby union will make a return to the MCG for the first time since 2007, after Rugby Australia and the Victorian Government secured the Bledisloe Cup matches on Melbourne soil in 2022 and 2023.

    .
Agree the G is no good at all for rectangular games. Last one I went to was the Bledisloe in 2007, I was up in the nosebleed section and found it hard to see what was going on a lot of the time. Plenty of the people around us obviously weren't regular rugby fans, and had no idea what was happening.

Remember when the 80 minute hooter went, and the crowd went mad (Wallabies were in the lead), then there was a wave of whispered confusion when the crowd realised the game was still going. Ref blew the whistle, and the same thing happened again. Finally the Wallabies kicked it out, and they cheered the end of the match for the third time

I'll no doubt still end up going again though

It's no surprise at all in Melbourne, expect better from Auckland though

Was really weird. Even some videos of the crowd at the ground. May track them down when more compos mentis.

Back on subject ... a trip to Melbourne in Spring would not be all bad ..
