Pog lost Marc Soler last night - he was throwing up and didn't make the cut off time.

And today, he's lost Rafael Majka - who has a torn thigh muscle and can't start.

So he's down to three support riders - McNulty, Hirschi (who's been struggling all tour) and Bjerg.

He's going to have to do it himself.

Vingegaard still has five team mates - including Van Aert, Benoot and Kuss.

Ha ha, how far away was that call? Maybe tomorrow as McNulty is absolutely ruining himself in service of the Pog today.

    Fucking hell they are going.

    It's like magic! 🙂

McNulty seems to have kept a very low profile through the tour so far, so maybe UAE have been clever and preserved his legs. Maybe tonight it will be Hirschi's turn.

I've only see the website video, but Jonas didn't seem to be in any trouble at the finish.

Nah, Jonas looked fine. Today is going to be a cracker. I wonder whether any Jumbo guys have any legs left?

Pog attacks but cant distance Jonas, this has turned into a great TDF.

Any signs that he way have had Jonas working harder than he wanted? Pog simply has to keep attacking him and hope he cracks first.

It actually looked like McNulty had better legs than both of them, and both times Pog went for him, Jonas came back to his wheel without problem. You just have to wonder how many times he can do it though, especially with the pace they are setting.

That's Pog's only hope now. Keep at him and hope. He's not going to trick him like he was tricked.

@gt12 Pog actually looked worse than Jonas at the end, even though he won.

Yeah, the guy from LR was arguing that it looked like it's taking more out of Pog than Jonas, but I dunno, he's a tricky bastard. He looked like he was blown on the last ramp and got Jonas to move off his wheel then put on the burners.

@gt12 That LR guy seems to have a touch of incredulity in his commentary about quite what he's watching.

Fucking hell, I was worried about this tour being a procession, and it’s been one of the best.

Pog attacks with 39 kms to go.

    Crazy pace and fucking awesome.

Jonas brings him back and Sepp bridges to them too. Jumbo still have Van Aert up the front so Jonas could still have more help.

    I love July.

Holy fuck, Jonas nearly goes over on the descent! Loses a pedal.

    Fuck, now Pog goes down!!

Always nice to stay up late and be treated to great racing.

That’s cool. Jonas waits for him, they shake hands; and now they go back to it again.

Looks like Pog has backed off (seemed to be under pressure to attack) until we get to final climb. This is awesome.

Van Aert now attacks on the final climb from the break, he’s a crazy bastard and seems to be chasing the green and polka dots…

Jonas goes clear and starting to put some time into Pog now

My respect for the Pog has grown though, these guys have been awesome with attack and response and attack and response.

Looks like Jonas will get another 40 or so seconds here.

    That was fucking awesome!

Jonas goes large on his own for the last few kms and gets the win on Hautacam with a minute on the Pog.

    Fuck these guys are machines.

    @gt12

Yeah, this whole tour has been pretty ace.

    Remarkable racing at times.

I remember Jonas taking over from George Bennet at the Giro and thinking what a bummer it was. Now I see that he is bloody awesome and no shame being overshadowed by him.

Really looking forward to the TV series following this tour with behind the scenes stuff. Should be awesome!

    Great battle between those two.

Nice touch for Jonas to wait when Pog went down - maybe indicative that he knew he had the legs to win. He's a bit more lightweight model than Pog and in the end that showed a bit on some of the climbs - bit more pure climber.

In the end, George getting covid might have been quite a decisive moment in the tour. The two stages that Jonas won were two where the TJV team as a whole dominated. The mountain ones where Pog won, his team did well.
