Wondering if we can get it back at Sydney. New SFS looks the goods.

Henry Paterson was awesome. The tries and the tackle at the death in regulation time. Boy has some wheels. Best player in both the final and the semi.

Unlucky to our boys. I thought we did enough to give us a chance to win, but the Oz ball retention and discipline was good.

Hamilton now presents even more of an ideal setup, with next year a second field at neighbouring Willoughby Park to be used to host around eight to 10 matches as well, which will allow full men’s and women’s tournaments to be played across two days, with those games to also be broadcast on the stadium’s big screens, while fellow neighbouring ground Fred Jones Park will stay as a warm-up venue.

Willoughby Park is next to Gate 4, the main entrance to the Brian Perry Stand. There is no seating and the playing surface will need to be improved. The public might even be able to watch for free unless it is fenced off.

@Bovidae Would it be possible to fence off a walkway between both venues, so that paying spectators from the stadium can walk to the other field to watch games, and back?

I am sure the organisers will have a plan to allow for spectator movement between the main ground and Willoughby Park, but they will need to fence off some adjacent streets too. Those streets are closed for rugby games anyway.

The teams will be using nearby fields for warm-ups so that sort of system must already be in place.

Just saw this on the World Rugby YT channel. That was a pretty good try-saving tackle!

@trooa The biggest surprise to me is the return of Lewis Ormond.

Leroy Carter suffered an injury at training and has been ruled out of this weekend. Ngarohi McGarvey-Black comes into the side as his replacement.

I didn't watch the games, but these are the first two results:

    AB7s 26 - 5 Canada
    AB7s 33 - 12 USA

Our toughest game - against South Africa - is at 10.59am.

Edit, just looked at other results, and South Africa lost 7 - 21 to the USA in the first game. Samoa, Fiji and Australia all did what they have to do.

Great team try scored by Rokolisoa. A lot of patience in that attack. He converts his own try.

Third try scored by Lewis Ormond. Looked like a high tackle on him while he scored.

    17 - 0 NZ

Did South Africa send a B team?

    That's the half time score.

According to the commentators, if South Africa don't make the finals, Australia only needs to win a medal (of any colour) to win the World Series.

South Africa finally manages to get through the NZ defence, which has been good. Rokolisoa missed the tackle.

17 - 7 NZ with less than 3 minutes to go.
