2023 New Zealand U20s

Finn Hurley dropped. Thought he was quite tidy in the first game.

Media release:
Unavailable due to injury:
Payton Spencer (Auckland), Fiti Sa (Taranaki), Maliu Niuafe (Auckland), Cody Nordstrom (Waikato), Toby Bell (Canterbury) -
I am surprised that Essendon Tuitupou missed out, as I had thought he and Leo Gordon would be the midfielders (having also played for the Blues U20s and NZ U19s together).
The tight five will still be an issue. A year too early for a couple of them IMO.

The wider squad members, or other players used for the matches against Australia, who didn't make the squad and are NOT listed as injured:
Finn Hurley
Will Martin
Sean Ralph

@Bovidae if you go to the following link it’s got all information for every player in NZ including some who are playing overseas now, aswell as all the current Under 20s. Stats seem pretty accurate:
-
@Canes4life I was referring to the official website.

Which beggars belief because you'd think that would be part of day one; taking measurement.

I just discovered that the NZ U20s played a warm-up match in South Africa against the Pumitas (Argentina). NZR kept that quiet! Argentina on the other hand announced their team line-up for that game and livescored the game on Twitter. They played two periods of 30 minutes and one of 20 minutes.
Anyway, the NZ U20s won that game 59-21.
Argentina have completed their preparations for the 2023 Junior World Championship. Los Pumitas faced New Zealand in South Africa. The match was the final hit-out before Argentina face Italy on Saturday, June 24.
New Zealand were worthy winners over Argentina. Playing at a high pace, New Zealand completed a 59-21 victory. Argentina scored three tries in the match. All were scored by Super Rugby Americas players – Tomás Bartolini, Faustino Sánchez Valarolo and Valentino Minoyetti. Fellow SRA players Juan Baronio landed two conversions and Valentino Dicapua one. -

I love that they advertise these jobs on seek and don't have their own system with all the rugby coaches in New Zealand.
