    According to 'The Roar' Alex Hodgeman has signed with the Reds for next season.

    That is weird I thought the Blues would want to keep him.

    Hodgman is eligible for Aus from next year through his father. A Lions series in 2025 and possible RWC in 2027 must be enticing.

    @Stargazer interesting that another former Hurricanes player signs with an Aussie side. I would have signed both Hodgman and Toomaga Allen if I were the Canes over Tosi and Franks (who I believe is moving on).

    From what I hear Australian SR teams are throwing some decent money around atm.
    Helped out by some cooperate finacial backing from some ex school old boy players.

    @Higgins you'd have to think they can keep it going at least through the RWC

    @Kiwiwomble Not if they're going to sign more (overrated or not) AFL/NRL players for millions of dollars!

    Super Round in Melbourne coinciding with Group 1 racing at Flemington elevates this to ultimate boys weekend territory
    The draw even helps by having the saturday late-arvo game being Pacifica v Drua, so no need to leave the races early

    After playing for the Hurricanes and Crusaders, Pepesani Patafilo is Tana's first signing for Moana Pasifika next year.

    @Canes4life Second. Sione Havili Talitui was the first.

    I haven't seen it confirmed by MP or Patafilo yet.

    @Stargazer there’s a post somewhere, it’s on Du Plessis Kirifi’s Insta story.

    Probably not officially announced by MP or Patafilo himself yet but it’s happening.

    Update: It was announced by SOPS Group who are a accredited Pasifika sports agency.

    It sounds like Julian Savea wanted to stay at the canes.

    @Chris his time is up but he will always remain a Hurricanes great. Despite the botched try in the 2015 final there are definitely some awesome memories of Savea in a Canes jersey. My favourite is when he smoked Israel Dagg and sent him flying before dotting down in the corner.

    I wonder if the Highlanders are the team that have picked him up.

    It would be cool if he ended up at Moana. An Aussie team could be interested too.
