Runners?
-
Having recently found my running feet, I am going to enter a fun run. Its 12 kms, so I was just wondering how long it takes the runners on this board to run that distance? I run for about 60-70 mins most days and am just curious as to how this compares?

I guess the smart thing would be just to measure out a 12 km course and run it. -

I was running about 900m further than I thought I was after driving it and usuing the cars odometer. -
oh effing excellent. I assumed there would be something like this around.
Cheers -
Ive just been using that mapmyrun.com and find myself somewhat sceptical. After doing some medium intensity running, the website reckons that I am running at the pace I need to be to be passing my police fitness run. I know for a fact that I'm not running that fast (heartrate significantly lower, hills included in the distance). I think the maps may be a little out in distance
-
maybe its just a 'top down' measurement... no gradients (hills etc) measured...

I found it useful to get an idea of how far I was going - didn't pay too much attention to the cals and heart-rate bits.
Maybe the best way would be to map out as flat a run as possible? -
warlord - Buy yourself a GPS if you want to be sure <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I did 12.9 km in 72 minutes 28 seconds the other day. Twas a well organised fun run

I'm not fat, but not fit.

Reckon 12 km in one hour - one hour ten would be a good goal. Just under 6 min ks, with a quick finish. Flat runs are a good start -

What a great little site, great to map out where we go for walks and see how far we go. Our most common route is a bit further than i expected.
