This could be one of the most interesting games of the weekend. It could give us an idea where Georgia sits in the European rugby pecking order. Are they really close to Six Nations level, or are they hanging somewhere in-between the Six Nations and the Rugby Europe Championship? Whether this game will really answer that question, I guess, will depend also on the strength of the Welsh line-up. Can our Welsh Ferners give us an idea of how to rate this Welsh squad?

23 Owen Williams (Gloucester) (2 Caps)I'm not an expert on things Welsh. But on first glance I only recognise 7 of the names in the XV, and 3 (I think ... No.23 being the other apart from the obvious) of the bench.
On that basis is this a nod to some rotation? Is Georgia of a standard that you want to be messing with your starting XXIII?

Either a masterstroke blooding new players and combinations in preparation for NZ and SA.
Or the biggest balls up since our last biggest balls up.
This 'easy' fixture in the Autumn Internationals calendar always causes us grief.
Narrow win against Japan, draw with Fiji, loss to Samoa in recent seasons.
Need to blood new players but shows the lack of depth in our squad.
If we get involved in an arm wrestle and truck the ball up it could be an historic victory for Georgia.
If we play to our strengths - fit, athletic, mobile pack and pacy dynamic backs - then we could score a lot of tries.
Canada waltzed through the Georgian defence last week.

Oh and to repeat,
Cuthbert FFS

Despite that, Georgia won that game easily 54 to 22. So this could be a banana skin for Wales?
Georgia's stats weren't bad either: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/match.cfm?season=2018&competition=3&match=8271, but yeah, that was Canada.

Canada didn't have the forwards or set piece to handle Georgia.
We hopefully do.
Then our backs will determine the margin.
Could easily be a banana skin if we underperform and/or employ the wrong tactics.

Sorry. Excuse ignorance. But pleez explarn?
-
@bones When was that exactly?
In the pro14, he has scored a try in six games this year and gained less than 200 metres. I have only seen 2 of their games but he doesnt really look like an international winger. Wish he was better, but he isn't. -
Great highlight reel fair play.
Cuthbert thoroughly deserved his place in the Lions 1st Test XV against Australia in 2013.
Scored the winning try.
Got dropped for the 2nd Test for a fit again Tommy Bowe and he hasn't been the same since.
The raw materials are still there but his confidence is shot to shit.
And has had sub par performances for Wales since.
Gatland dropped him for the Lions perhaps he feels he owes him.

Id be interested to see how Georgia go up against Italy and Scotland first.
Georgia would be heavy favourites if they played in the Pacific nations cup (including japan, but not junior ABs) -

If Wales lose to Georgia I wonder if Gatland has any dirt to dish on them?
If Wales lose to Georgia, he may be looking for work come 03 December.
-
Another interesting game is USA Germany. I think Germany can still qualify for 2019. Apparently making rapid progress.

Last time they made rapid progress they defeated Poland, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in quick succession.

Unless we beat NZ.
Then he'll get the job for life.

Good first half. Wales had most of the ball and has been attacking for most of those first 40 minutes, but the Georgian defence is holding well. Can they keep that up for 40 more minutes though?
Georgia has hardly had the ball in the first half, with only one reasonable chance with that grubber kick. 10-3 to Wales at half time.
-
Georgia knock over a penalty on 50 mins.
10-6 to the Bois

More to follow tomorrow but in the meantime, the above and we're the dumbest rugby team bar none.

Wales could be in the shit here. Word I am hearing is they had props to come on but they became injured at short notice.
I was livid live, and haven't cooled down since.
Shocked that it hasn't been brought up yet.
Cheating. Pure and simple.
We rightly chastised France in last season's 6N for similar. And then we go and do it ourselves. But that may be because World Rugby sat on their hands. No censure. No detterent.
If the shoe had been on the other foot and Wales had a last minute attacking scrum to tie the match then Brown would have been champing not cramping.
So disappointed. So let down by the Welsh management.
And the match was shocking.
Clearly have players who are not up to the task.
What is galling is we have better players outside of the squad / not selected for the match.e.g. Thomas Young
