Hugo Nankivell starting at 7 instead of Mitch Jacobson. Alex Nakivell's younger brother right?

Edit: Hugo is the older brother.

A charge down of the Taranaki conversion attempt that looked suspiciously early. Still exciting to watch and just goes to show you should never give up trying to prevent the extra two points being given up without a fight. The kicker could always take it back a bit further to prevent the defenders getting to the kick. No [point taking it from about seven or eight metres from the posts when taking it back about 15 metres would make the kick no more difficult and would remove the possibility of a charge down to almost nil.

What a dick move from Riccitelli. Should have reversed the penalty. Didn't matter coz Taranaki ballsed up the line out.

@Yeetyaah Frankly the penalty should have been marched ten metres forward due to the Waikato No 6 interfering with the Taranaki player after the penalty had been awarded in the first place.

Clear blocking by the Taranaki guard dogs, try should be disallowed.

A very average 1st half but good to see Waikato finish the game strongly. It's been a while since we've won.

Naholo pretty much anonymous expect for dropping the ball from a kickoff.

@Yeetyaah Did Jacobson pick up a late injury? We were trying to work out who the replacement 7 was, not having paid any attention to the team list on the big screen.

@Bovidae Yeah must have. Hugo Nankivell was the replacement. I didn't go to the game this time, conflicting schedules.

@Yeetyaah Yeah, we worked out it was Nankivell once the app updated the team list.

@Yeetyaah said in Waikato v Taranaki:

I thought he was alright. Better than Perofeta anyhow.

He's not well served inside and at least can catch and pass.
