@RoninWC I'd play it super safe and end the fast immediately. I'd then double down on the caution, by easing myself into the Saturday drinking by having a beer immediately and steadily increasing consumption from there.

@voodoo ... That, dear Sir sounds, like a plan.

And yeah, I've decided to kill the fast tomorrow morning at 7 am and will ease back into food and yeah, I do fancy a beer now so will have to do that tomorrow afternoon to start "warming up" for Saturday.

Ended the fast at 0700 hrs this morning. 86 hours done!

Edit: Jumped on the scales and was 100.1. Damn, I really really wanted to break that tonne barrier and I know I would have if I had done the full 120 hour fast but oh well.

Will do a walk home from work, weather permitting and lift the exercise to compensate.

Post fast, I do feel great, just had a smoothie to break the fast with:
Coconut water, natural yoghurt, blueberries, raspberries and half a banana.

I need to eat some protein soon so will have a couple of boiled eggs. Lunch will be some veggies, a small amount of rice and chicken.

    Dinner will be similar.

Tomorrow will follow a similar pattern with larger but smaller than normal quantities. I'll also swap out the smoothie for my usual muesli and bran with fruit.

And yes @voodoo I'll be having a beer this afternoon and definitely a few on Friday. Got to do that warm up right 😉

Thanks @voodoo and @Kirwan and all others who have contributed and commented and encouraged here.

BTW, didn't know where else to put this so I thought I'd add it here:

Next week, I'm off to NZ for a boys weekend away with my son who turned 18 in August last year but had his HSC so I've hardly seen him. In fact, other than Xmas, I've only seen him just the one time and that was to take him out for his first pub lunch as an adult to celebrate his HSC result of 99.05.

So this trip to NZ is to take him to celebrate his 18th, his HSC score and to have some quality Father and Son time. And since he's half Kiwi, I'm keen to show him some good old Kiwi male culture.

Given his Mom is Singaporean Chinese and his step-Dad is Brazilian and spends most of his time with them he hasn't had a lot of NZ influence. It got to the point where he and his Mum were learning Brazilian Portugese. All this has really bothered me (except for the fact that hey may be able to use it to pick up a hot Brazilian chick) so I really want him to embrace his Kiwi heritage more!

On of my cousins has an amazing batch at Rings Beach, Kuaotunu on Corromandel. He has a decent boat and we plan on getting out fishing Saturday and Sunday targeting Snapper of course, but we also want to try for Kingfish and Tuna which my cousin has previously had some success fishing for.

But the trip to Kuaotunu will be just as good. The plan is to do a bit of a pub crawl once we get out of Auckland. Also planned stops are the Coromandel Oyster company and the smoke house. We'll also stop by my Grandmothers grave site as I try to do every time I make it home to NZ.

So any suggestions in terms of good craft beer and gin/whisky options to stop on the way to Coromandel?

It was quite funny, when the two other cousins (three brothers) - one who lives in Wellington and the other works in Christchurch but he and his wife, who works in Auckland, have a house in Remuera and another in Christchurch and they split there weekends alternating between both locations - heard what was planned, they both went hell yeah, we are in!
So they are joining us for a real boys weekend fishing and eating and drinking.

So next Friday, the 14th (yes it's Valentines Day), we'll be in Auckland taking my son around the Harbour and the Viaduct Basin and some other places for the morning and early afternoon. One thing I'm really keen to see where the America's Cup are getting set up and hopefully a peak at the boat(s).

Was planning to take the boy for a lunch at the The Brewers Co-Operative - NZ Craft Beer and Fish and Chips Auckland.

So, to @Kirwan and any others, if you happen to be in and around Auckland at that time, drop by for a beer or other beverage.

Send me a PM and we can swap numbers as I'll have global roaming turned on.
