Good contest ,deserved win to Otago ,Southland showing that despite not having the resources of many other unions they are going to be tough to beat ..credit to the Stags fans that were at the game ,if they were not there ,would hate to think how many fans would turn up ..and Joe Wheeler is the ultimate knob

Was really impressed with Christian Lio-Willie when he came on. Should be a great 30 minute impact player over the course of the season.
Sam Gilbert won the battle of the two Highlanders' fullbacks. I thought it was the best game I have seen him play.
Liked the look of Freedom Vahaakolo at centre, certainly raises his stocks a bit as a utility player.
Forwards are a bit of a concern at the moment. We have plenty of talented players out injured or unavailable. Don't know how we will handle it against some of the more talented packs.
Thought Marty Banks was very impressive for Southland, really led them around the paddock well.
Still can't understand why Greg Pleasante-Tate didn't get more of a run in Super Rugby.
